Inner Dialogue
#1
To become aware of our totality, we must turn off our internal dialogue. This is the first test of self control. Take complete inventory of ourselves and then toss it aside. Lose the sense of self. Then the internal dialogue can stop, seeing can begin.
Stalking the inner dialogue is stalking the foreign installation, for it is the foreign installation that shapes our perception in the first attention. By "turning it off" we can regain our intent to rid ourselves of the human form.
Stalking the inner dialogue is a skill worth exploring. I would like to see ideas presented here to help guide those trying to stop the inner voices.
How do you stalk the inner dialogue?

RECAPITULATE!!
The internal dialog is simply the re-hashing of all our interactions in the tonal; past, present, or future. The more we recap, the less there is to re-hash! Then the methods intended to silence the mind will begin working. Until we erase personal history, there will be plenty of internal dialog going on and I would be very surprised to find that someone stopped it permanently without addressing their history.

Discipline. We "control" the flow of our thoughts. We end the battle. We voice in our mind "No other is allowed here. Leave and never come back. I refuse any beings inside my body or mind. I withdraw permission to any thought but my own!"

Good question and something that should be answered a lot.
You can start by simple exercises by doing simple acts like cutting the lawn that do not require major thought and work on it until you do it while in every action when you feel you need to by shutting your internal dialog off.
An exercise that I have been doing is shutting my internal dialog off while dreaming, the results are really stunning because it allows you to see energy while in your dreaming body and when you are in your waking state you can recognize F.E. easily and this helps you stalk the F.E. when timing is the key when acting.
When I shut off my internal dialog I feel the force of the F.I. trying to pry my unbending intent into its control of thought and by doing this it only reveals the force that tries to control us.
When I did this I thought to my self--I just opened up a big can of **** to deal with--but after a couple of years that went by after doing this, I would not want it any other way.
You have to learn how to revert back to normal dialog to have a strong tonal at the right time to only then to go further into the second attention.

Discipline and control are needed. It does take practice. By refusing the F.I. entrance to our mind, we can re-hash all of our interactions in the tonal with clear intent.
It is the "methods intended to silence the mind" that I seek, not just for me but for anyone who is being guided by these forums. I am not sure if I am still a novice, but I speak for any warrior trying to reach further into the second attention. I feel as if I am at the point of opening up the can of ****. I am sure there are many who get stuck here. How do we teach others to have the discipline to turn off the internal dialogue?
I believe it takes a strong and powerful mind to learn how to have the control required to turn off the inner voices without having stalking maneuvers. Carlos and his fellow apprentices were instructed to complete many tasks that seemed to make no sense at times. Aranno points out the mindless activity needed to become truly mindful. For me it was the exercise of being part of a forum such as this that helped me recognize the F.I. in my silence (or lack of silence.)
I really like the statement made by Aranno: "When I shut off my internal dialog I feel the force of the F.I. trying to pry my unbending intent into its control of thought and by doing this it only reveals the force that tries to control us.".....I have seen this to be key. When I recognize the F.I., I am no longer in its power. I feel empowered and in control.
This has been a 20 year journey for me and until I recognized and accepted the F.I., turning off the inner dialogue was impossible.
I would like to see this forum not just be a place for strong warriors (or their opponents) to re-enforce their power. Of course that is an intended purpose, but I would like to see the individual who is having a hard time erasing personal history be able to learn the methods intended to silence the mind. To me this is a critical point at the beginning of the path to knowledge.

I have shared this method before on this site. It has worked for me.
When you begin to practice silence, you actually begin to listen more to your inner chatter. It seems to become worse, and maybe it does. You will find that "forced discipline" will only make matters worse. It is more of a "patient discipline" that is needed, knowing it won't happen overnight. And your subconscious or FI will rebel if forced.
My method is to realise this,.. and also one other thing.
That we can only think one thought at a time.
We think we can but in actuality we are constantly jumping from one thought or subject to another and back constantly. (I believe Don Juan pointed this out to Carlos in one of his early books.)
So I decided to use this knowledge to my advantage.
Just listen to yourself breathing. The sound of your breathing in and out. Do it all of the time. You will find yourself going back to the internal dialog over and over. Don't get upset when this happens. Just go back to listening to your breathing. You may do it a hundred times a day. Don't get upset. Just go back to listening to your breathing.
There is no meaning to this sound, so it will not tie you to your Tonal as speaking does. And while you are doing this, you really cannot think of anything else.
If you cannot hear your breathing because of surrounding noise, no problem. Just pretend to hear it. You know exactly what it sounds like so just listen to the memory of that sound.
It is as simple as that.
After a while, if you don't try and force it, your subconscious will stop rebelling, because it is actually enjoying it. This is where it gets fun because you will just naturally want to do it all of the time. While driving and working etc.
Keep at it for about a month or two and you will be amazed at your ability to go into a heightened awareness in moments. Sometimes just by thinking you are going to begin stopping your internal dialog.
You will also be amazed at your ability to "read" people.
Approach it like the water that wears away the stones. The stone cannot stand up to the current that will not stop.Bob
