People's Quests towards Awakening
#1
Sometimes reading about other people's journeys can be inspiring and helpful. Many times stories of a lineage, of how members of the lineage experienced life or discovered stuff (etc.), were actually a means of learning. In people's stories the influence of spirit can also be identified. In essence they are tales of power and it is a good thing to read them and process.

I noticed that more and more there are books published by people wanting to share their path, learning or transformation. Sometimes they do it in a kind of how to way, like Carlos Castaneda or Jed McKenna, other times they just share their life as it was happening or certain parts of their life where they show stuff.

For those who find interesting books of this type, I'd like if you shared those with us.

I will start by sharing one that caught my eye today, I found the title thanks to looking for info about soul retrieval on the internet (last I did this search was 4 years ago and I thought, since the topic came up, to check if there is more on it around today). The title really caught my eye as I am a big fan of elephants hehe, so I googled the book and read the preview on amazon. Here it is:

Swimming with Elephants looks interesting. Maybe you could do the book in a book club fashion. There could be a thread and weekly discussions on some chapters? I would join in for exchanging of ideas based on a book some of us are reading.

One book I loved as a teen was The Celestine Prophecy. Keep in mind, I'm no critic and often enjoy simple stories. Have average expectations should you decide to read it. I loved how it laid out the path to spiritual ascension in a way that a teen could easily understand. It's a fabulous book for muggles.
