I heard that story about Santa and the visions.     This is also alleged to be how the reindeer fly as well.      In fact, some theorize that religion in general developed hand in had with the use of psychoactive plants and fungi.....especially mushroom........it is believed that it led to the monkey thinking beyond the box of survival...hence our evolution is also tied to these substances.   It is not odd to think (in my opinion) that spirit left power in plants and fungi for us to discover and expand out minds.   Of course there are so many examples of this in indigenous people's cultures all around the world.
