I must only comment on one point. I would never in this lifetime consider such a coward and self involved act as suicide. I have very strong feelings about this as I have encountered a loved one in the process of trying. This is the most self involved and selfish acts that can be perpetuated against self, family, and imho the universe. To throw away such a gift is unforgivable. And just to quell your curiosity about why I went to University...it was the only way I could see out of poverty and homelessness....maybe you should take a cue...

I hope that your recapitulation goes wel,l but it has occured to me that your toxic nature is detrimental to self, and others...later dude, and you may want to seek professional help. Namaste.

Well Im going to try to go back to topic? What is shamanism, in how it relates today? In honesty I cant call myself a shaman, because Im not that villager that people go to, to heal themselves from sickness, or flyers, or other strange things. A shaman is a loner, one who is a healer in extraordinary ways. They have a foot in both worlds and typically are a tortured soul. But there does seem to be a new emergence of shamans who may not be so tortured, who can lead normal lives (sort of haha what is normal), but what I mean by that is function in the world, maybe with a 9-5 job, but they do their travels from time to time, with various allies, and live in a 'separate reality' from the norm. In honesty, im not very good at defining things that much, but I tried. *smiles*

Well Da Pimp, strange to see this occur, cause I had a dream about you last night. It is a total mystery to me how you ended up in my dreamscape, but I read this today and wondered, maybe he showed in dreams cause there was some turbulence. Anyway, would be nice to see you back here, in a better state of mind. In the dream you said, 'its all about balance,' aside from your humor about being a pimp, and, perhaps thats what you need, if you decide to remain here. I do know the three from yetanotherway that you speak of, and I know they can be tough, but really, in the end we're all just trying to make it to the infinite - I mean, at least I am, and I know others have the goal. Is your goal the infinite? I want to be able to go on, awareness intact, get the Eagles Gift, and move on, in a reality that im pleased with. Anyway, would be good to see you return. Most people have thought about it at least once in their life time.Yes, we've all thought about it, true, and it could be related to the pesky flyer. I mean, there is a side of us, and most of us have it, which is geared toward survival at any cost. That is the natural way. But the world can really be trying at times, people can be cruel, and to people who are very sensitive, it can open the doorway to welcome death. However, most people usually snap back into survival mode, that natural instinct to stay alive. Some aren't so lucky, and actually take their own life. I guess in the end, we just have to stay strong and realize that life is worth living. Life is truly a gift. We can't always understand why bad things come, but we have to press on regardless, cause no matter, we dont own our lives and, were on borrowed time to begin with.

What is Shamanism? A shaman is able to access the deepest parts of the second attention where intuition lives then uses all tools available to him/her to bring forth a healing, a healing of mind body and spirit as they are all connected. This doesnt happen through wishful thinking but many many years of hard work and ruthless introspection. fwiw

Great questions snowblind... I'd say it's a bit of both for me... I am very intuitive... at least when it comes to dreams.

A Shaman is healer, teacher, adviser, man of knowledge, at one with his world, a priest. Same for a true witch, as we call them. Individuals will have different talents; dance, music, cloud , water, sky, plants, animals, etc.
Not Doing is a true psychological tool for healing and mental progress. Native American's called it the Contrary, one who does everything backwards , or opposite. In Castaneda, we find apprentices walking backwards or  hanging in trusses , off the ground. The purpose is to take power away from neurotic obsessions.
Recapitulation is information, perhaps. The events of one's life that make us what we are, for good or ill. I do it all the time, anything can trigger the recall. Aside from helping my self-esteem, I am not sure what other use it has, as there are none I can share these stories with.
Suicide is surely a device of those powers that would destroy us, perhaps Flyers and more. One less, more for them! Beware self-pity and improper self-reflection, self-esteem! Survival is the best revenge!
