Power things
#1
Couple of times here I got across a term power food, power nap and so on. And I do not have any idea what that may be. Were some people just joking or is that
real? If someone could please explain this to me I would be thankful.

Objects can be ensouled with power. These can range from good luck charms to talismans purposely imbued with power in ceremonies.

It can also be objects found or prepeared in a peculiar way. It is much to do with intent. Do you concider it a power object? Then it is to an extent.

Does it have a purpose in your mind and was it prepared for that purpose? Spells can be used to create such objects and specific names associated with it or it
can just be something you were led to for a reason while searching for power.

At the Field museum in Chicago there is a whole section of Kachina dolls and skulls of enemies slain in battle. These are thought to contain the spirits of the
slain warriors who's skulls they were in life.

Do they really? It might depend upon the belief of the slain at the time they were killed as well as the slayer's beliefs at that time.

There are whole books written on making talismans. Spells and incantations and Names of spirit beings are associted with the objects thus made.

I had interesting dreams last night/this morning

I was talking to quantum shaman on a phone in a library...

and I made a lot of friends, especially one girl maybe she was an inorganic being, idk but I'm in love (we kissed)

I dreamt there were four of "us" in a booth at what was probably a restaurant/bar.  We were in danger because of a wild animal which was some manner of bear.  The she-bear was white in winter, black in summer.  When I saw her, she was half and half - in between the seasons, in between the worlds.  She was hungry, angry, and intended to kill us all.  We were trapped.
I looked up and a window appeared above the booth, but when I suggested that we should all climb through the window, someone in the group (a female), said, "But it's too high!"  The female and one of the men decided to wait it out, but myself and the other man climbed through the window and got away from the she-bear.  The two who stayed behind would probably be killed, though I never knew for sure.
The man I left with wore a baseball cap turned backward.  The female who chose to stay behind had light hair, pulled back from her face in a pony tail.  She had been talking a cell phone when I arrived (the other 3 were already there when I showed up).
Don't know if this relates to your dream in any way, but thought I would share, since it was an unusual Dreaming for me.

all my dreams from that sequence were positive
but I had a very similar dream a while back, a nightmare bear I call it, very ferocious trying to break into a house I was in and I had a distinct feeling/knowing in the dream and upon waking that it was Lee kuan major sacateca genardo...  lol

my dreams last night were not so positive filled with conflict, and I received a special katana sword...

can anyone here lucid dream every single night, or is it hit and miss affair?

one way to perceive Power is just another name for Spirit, like Intent

a power object or action is something imbued with Spirit/Intent as Bob above

theres a certain mystique around martial arts, especially with the so-called 'spiritual' internal martial arts...
the same danger with yogi gurus, newbies can become over-awed by their teachers 'movements'
giving them undue reverence which would be better placed on the inner Spirit that can teach you movements also

and these teachers know more or less about this mystique and can take advantage of naive inexperienced ones through the manipulation of it
it is very predatorial, even if the teacher is quite enlightened and sincere, that potential is there in the background (unconscious)
and when money is added to the equation, and the teacher needs students payments to support the livelihood, watch out

the mystique is perpetuated also in the terminologies, qi/chi, prana, bioelectricmagnetic energy, internal strength, etc
and is compounded by the fact that any physical exercise can make the body feel good (endorphins) and is generally beneficial but one can mistaken this for the 'specialness' of the teacher and their style/art

it is related to 'glamor',

thats one benefit of science, to help clarify human knowledge and steer away from superstition

I almost wish someone could change the title of this thread from "Power Things" to "power Objects"! (Or something along those lines. The word things, sort of lacks any power!  It makes this entire thread feel like a bit of an oxymoron!  POWER things

"A man can live and be healthy without killing animals for food; therefore, if he eats meat, he participates in taking animal life merely for the sake of his appetite. "

Leo Tolstoy

"The love for all living creatures is the most noble attribute of man.
"

Charles Darwin

“Truly man is the king of beasts, for his brutality exceeds theirs. We live by the death of others: we are burial places! I have from an early age abjured the use of meat, and the time will come when men such as I will look on the murder of animals as they now look on the murder of men.”

Leonardo Da Vinci.

“Nothing will benefit human health and increase the chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet.”

Albert Einstein.

“It ill becomes us to invoke in our daily prayers the blessings of God, the Compassionate, if we in turn will not practice elementary compassion towards our fellow creatures.”

Gandhi.

“To become vegetarian is to step into the stream which leads to nirvana.”

Buddha.

“He is closest to God who harms no living creature.”

Bhagavad Gita.

"For as long as men massacre animals, they will kill each other. Indeed, he who sows the seed of murder and pain cannot reap joy and love."

Pythagoras, mathematician

"While we ourselves are the living graves of murdered beasts, how can we expect any ideal conditions on this earth?"

George Bernard Shaw, playwright, Nobel Prize 1925

"In their behavior toward creatures, all men are Nazis. Human beings see oppression vividly when they're the victims. Otherwise they victimize blindly and without a thought."

Isaac Bashevis Singer, author, Nobel Prize 1978

"You have just dined, and however scrupulously the slaughterhouse is concealed in the graceful distance of miles, there is complicity."

Ralph Waldo Emerson, essayist

"As long as there are slaughterhouses, there will be battlefields."

Leo Tolstoy, author

"Non-violence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages."

Thomas Edison, inventor

"Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace."

Albert Schweitzer, missionary and statesman, Nobel 1952

"If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who deal likewise with their fellow men. Not to hurt our humble brethren is our first duty to them, but to stop there is not enough. We have a higher mission - to be of service to them wherever they require it."

Francis of Assisi, saint

as I see it we are all student-teachers, even the least experienced one has something to teach the most wisest of us, even if only indirectly or unconsciously...

we are all equals in a sense

but if someone can persuade me otherwise I am open always to changing my mind/beliefs...  its one reason I am here to challenge myself, and simply for the experience... Nagualism fascinates me to no end... the desire to grok the essence of it and the VALUE in don Juan's teachings...

Videogames can change a person's brain and, as researchers are finding, often that change is for the better.

"A growing body of university research suggests that gaming improves
creativity, decision-making and perception. The specific benefits are
wide ranging, from improved hand-eye coordination in surgeons to vision
changes that boost night driving ability.

People who played action-based video and computer games made
decisions 25% faster than others without sacrificing accuracy, according
to a study."

"And now, while I would not quench your spirit of rejoicing, I would sternly warn you against the subtleties of pride, spiritual pride. If you could understand the downfall of Lucifer, the iniquitous one, you would solemnly shun all forms of spiritual pride."

“Fear is man’s chief enslaver and pride his great weakness; will you betray yourself into bondage to both of these destroyers of joy and liberty?”

-Jesus, from Midwayer commission

-------

"Of all the dangers which beset man’s mortal nature and
jeopardize his spiritual integrity, pride is the greatest. Courage is
valorous, but egotism is vainglorious and suicidal...

Pride is deceitful, intoxicating, and sin-breeding whether found in an
individual, a group, a race, or a nation. It is literally true,
“Pride goes before a fall.”

-a Solitary Messenger

"I did not then comprehend that Caligastia was insidiously
falling in love with himself; I did not then so fully understand the subtleties of personality pride."   -a Melchizedek
