Four coyotes
#1
Last night at work I had to drive through the property. It is nice piece of woods about 3 miles on each side.

As I was driving down the gravel road, I saw some animal up ahead in the middle of the road. It was just sitting there so I slowed the truck down.

It was a coyote pup about 13"-15" tall. It looked at me but made no attempt to move away. I made a kissing sound with my lips and it actually started
coming towards me. It was about 20 feet away. I moved the truck slowly forward and it finally walked off into the woods.

It happened again about a quarter mile further. Different coyote pup lighter in color.

On my way back it happened again. Each time the coyote pup acted like a normal puppy would have, no fear, just curiosity.

They must learn to be wary later in life.

They were cute as buttons, though. Like little German Shepherd pups.

The forth one was outside the property on a main road. This one just ran into the woods immediately when he saw the pick-up truck coming.

I don't count the forth one cause he acted differently, as I would expect a coyote to behave.

I look at the first three as a sign. Of what, I don't know yet.

In fact I was expecting a third after the first two. Three is manifestation in matter.

On the other hand, Joseph said about the Pharoah's dream that because it happened two times twice it was established with God. So I could look at it either
way, 4 or 3, and still come up with something is going to happen.

I had an experience with coyote last year. I acted from the gut and ran it off. It was attracted by a garbage security issue on my part. A neighbor , with
goats, about a half-mile away , shot it. He later told me it was full of disease. I could not kill it , yet it was this Coyote's time to die. I do not
act without consideration on these things. Killing is a last resort.

I sure did not tell this very well.

The thing is , I had never seen a coyote in my life , before this event. So , how powerful that the encounter happened while I am exploring Castaneda. I had
no idea what was eating my waterhose. My big dog was tethered to a tree one day. I went to check on him and the creature was about 20 feet away. I stepped
between them. Something was exchanged between us. I am feeling that it wanted to die , as the wild rarely comes here. I yelled , "Go away . Scat"
And away it went.

In the region where I live , there is much Nat'l forest. In the south of the county, where I lived previously, I saw bear and deer every day. Here in
the north of the county , all land is private. The wild land is on the peaks , and I rarely see large critters. The locals hunt coyotes regularly , and must
have run the bear and deer away. I have seen deer only once in 10 years. So , my point is that this was a rare event , similar to your own , Bob , with
overtones of the Nagual.

Hi Bob,

"So , my point is that this was a rare event , similar to your own , Bob , with overtones of the Nagual."

That's what counts. What did it mean to you.

I see Coyotes occasionally, but the pups were a new thing to me.

Last night I saw quite a few more and they are beginning to get more cautious. Good for them they need to act more like coyotes if they want to survive. Open
season on them around here. And they are in a hunting area, so in deer season a hunter waiting for a deer will put an arrow through a coyote in a heartbeat.

What it means to me is the equality of creatures. The Oglala Sioux call them families of the four-legged and the winged two-legged.

Traditional religion puts human beings above all other forms of life. The Bible seems to read this way. I cannot agree, anymore.

I am wondering, as someone else referred to Neo-Paganism , if that is not my way , and the way of the Nagual, or at least my inspiration.

Lastly , what Castaneda wrote reads that all these experiences are personal. That , an observer can know what is happening , but not the details or forms.

I have had the experience of merging ' with other beings many times, including this coyote and my own dog. My intent is to broaden this power.
"Merging ' is mentioned in Tales of Power.

Hi Bob,

Yet the Souix killed and ate the buffalo. With respect, though. I think that is the difference.

I can't abide cruelty to animals and never could even as a child. Even bugs. But I have killed, mostly fishing and a little bit of hunting.

It bothers me when I have to take a fish off a hook and he is hooked "badly".

I have all but given up hunting, but my oldest boy loves it and I have had to help him with cleaning deer etc. I had pretty much resigned myself the last few
years, (the few times that I was out hunting with him), that if a deer presented itself to me I would not take the shot.

I love archery though it is a very graceful art that requires an amount of "merging" with the arrow. Control and abandon. I have a hand made wooden
recurve that is a work of art.

Even before I read the Bible, I had a sense of hierarchy in the animal world. I think we all do.It bothers me to see a mammal in pain, human beings first, pets
next, wild animals next, less so a snake, even less a bug.

My youngest son summed up "merging" for me one day. He was about 5 years old and asked my wife, "When you look at Pete, (our dog) what do you
see?

She said, "I don't know."

He replied, "I see a person."
