It appeared to me that the title is mostly connected to /understood as a leader of a party of warriors, but the other day I thought that maybe this leader thing is in no way like a leader as we know it.
A nagual (double being) has a special connection to the Nagual and that might be the source of both the name, as well as the function of leadership function that is given/coming from Spirit/Power.
To be able to lead/guide a group of clowns or warriors it is best do when you master clowning and being a warrior.

I would agree MS in that the nagual being is created by and for the rule thus it is his/her natural course.

Depends apon the oRientation or predilection of the nagual as well!
A westerly nagual is born in a seat of ultimate severance from awarness, whilst perched on a seat of ultimate goodness.
his power is horrifying, like the midas touch he cannot touch or interact with normal men without destroying thier lives for the greater good!
As such he is seen as evil, AND WILL INVARIABLEY BE FOUND AMONGST DARK MAGICIANS.. sort of like a double agent..
everything he does forces men to destiny and if he is to be feared anyway.. he may as well use his power within the darkness of the void which people deliberatley access!
YOU CANNOT find a westerly nagual, you cannot bump into him in the street... If you do somehow manage to.. he will mess you up!!!
what makes it infuruating is hes not even a SADIST!
An easterly nagual.. doesnt even become a nagual until Old age and Death proves he is in alignment! he BECOMES THE NAGUAL but only through POWER!
within the easterly westerly nagual mens LEGEND.. is a key to word change..
westerly nagual men are DREAMERS TOTAL
The westerly nagual man is so powerful he is unstoppable in his perfection... the amount of power he holds means he cannot change direction.. and anyone who tries to change his direction or interfere will be destroyed by power! (kinda ****)
The only hope for the westerly nagual is that warriors will surface who Change their awarness and power structure within incarnation... and so doing over time create NEW POWER.. The only thing safe to challeneg a westerly nagual with!
an easterly nagual is a man who has successfully challeneged a westerly nagual and is still alive and sane(ish)
the combination of their energy is cataclysmic..
seeing as not only do they not meet each other in a lifetime very often..
but if they do.. they invariable are destroyed by power.. (although i cannot vouch for wether i would have destroyed my westerly nagual friend had i failed becuase i didnt)

cant make papermache Masks out of a kindle!
however it is a very good use for you old castenada books! shred them up, mix them with PVA glue, sculpt into masks.. and then read them again on a KINDLE or macbook!
Just be carefull cutting the eyes out!

i mean ****.. nagual beings are slaves to their nagual portion!
how else does the assemblage point move..
tensegrity is normal mans attempt to stir portions of energy that the nagual already knows within and throughout..
he sees where the crusted up energy is a part of the blue whales song! where it is magneticly connected to lichen.. or mechanicly connected to fungus!
just made tensegrity to try and get others to integrate!
the FIRST movement of the assemblage point can happen in only one direction from many..
there is NO WAY to return to normality once it has occured!

Perhaps the nagual as a leader was simply speaking to you (your ego/self importance) giving way or bowing down before the nagual (spirit leader) in you and allowing that to be your guide.
For point of contention, I do not believe that you (especially your ego) "creates" your nagual...if anything it would be the other way around.

the nagual, the warrior and the hunter form a triad.
a hunter sees others deliberatly from his nagual portion.
a warrior deliberatly is seen by the nagual portion.
a normal man IS the nagual portion.
just as with the complete other worlds of perception.
only fools would regard normal men as worthless!
people prefer to be hunters their whole life long.
eventuallly the triad degrades through lack of consistency.
and the hunter fails as a warrior as well as nagual
but then its too late..
except in his mind!
