Remembering
#1
Hi Ravens,
I posted this on "Tales of Power" under the subject heading "Lone Wolf" but it might be more appropriate here.
Re: He had to reach the end of himself before becoming..
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Wolf,
"ThanKs Mays..you both inspire me with your insights as well."
A slip of the pen perhaps?
I think not.
I am having a very difficult time bringing the recollection of my dreams with me as I awaken. Even though I am repeating the elements of those dreams over and over again in order to remember them.
Is it because there are two of me functioning each in it's
own environment and not able to cross over?
I have experienced this before with certain waking visions I've had. It seems to take an enormous amount of will to retain some experiences and bring them to the point where they are available to waking consciousness.
Something to do with "Totality" I think.
To learn to balance on that razors edge consciousness between waking and sleeping and to practice it often may be the answer. I remember this excercise given to Carlos by Zuleica in the "Eagles Gift". It had to do with being "rolled in on oneself."
Another sorceress described it to Carlos as the "flip" I believe. To bring the two awarenesses together. (left and right side)
Which I experience in a different way during meditation. We called it going into the "subconscious" which is seated in the Solar plexus area. (Don Juan says the navel area)
Don Juan said (also in the "Eagles Gift"), that losing the human form was the only way to break the "shell" of our luminous core.
"To break the shell means remembering the other self, and arriving at the totality of oneself."
I will try this excercise for a while and see what effects it has.

Hi Mornings Son,
It is a excercise that was given by one of the sorceresses in Carlos group. I think she called it the flip. It really wasn't an exercise as such but pointed out to Carlos that moment between waking and sleeping. I think she called it the "flip" or something like that.
I have tried in the past working with that point in consciousnes trying to find it and "hover" their, I guess you could say. I haven't done it in a while, but what I was doing was to either of two ways to reach it.
1. To lie down to sleep but watch myself and pay attention to that point where I went from normal waking consciousness to sleeping consciousness (subconsciousness I would call it.)
2. The other way I would approach this consciousness would be to go into a meditation and after going into deep relaxation, I would move my consciousness to the solar plexus area. (the seat of subconsciousness) While doing this I would attempt to again pay very close attention to that state of consciousness that I mentioned before.
In both excersises I would try to recognise and remain in that area where both states of consciousness are right there. And to stay there as long as I could or to cross over back and forth as many times as I could. Meaning from consciousness to subconsciousness and back and forth.
To be very familiar with this "flip" was my goal and seemed to help, not only with remembering dreams but of bringing back information that I had learned while dreaming.
I hope that makes sense.

Hi Bob
It makes perfectly sense!
I know both ways. The second though from random experience in meditation, rather that guiding the consciousness to solar plexus.
I have found that taking notes of dreams first thing in the morning help me to remember my dreams better. Just Intenting remembering by puting the notebook by the bed side helps.
