I dreamt that I was in a mansion with my little sister (In real life I don't have one). She looked like Wednesday Addams, and I was dressed in a black dress. A man I know in real life was in the dream, he started expressing his affection for my sister. All the sudden we started running from him. We ran outside in the courtyard and hid inside a school bus but the seats were swings. We sat together for a few moments then we were suddenly in a van. I was driving but I drove it off the side of the road. We heard police sirens so we hid in the tall grass nearby. All the sudden I lost her and I ran back to the mansion. It was empty so I started to leave out the front doors but then I noticed their was paper on he floor. I picked up a few pieces then a hole opened from the floor. There was a decapitated head attached to a string. Suddenly I fell down the hole. After that I was swinging on a swing attached to a tree in a grassy field while singing softly to myself.
How should I interpret this?

Hey Jane,
could be many perspectives, the bet is your own.
From my perspective it could mean that need to suck your self in to nothing and be happily detached together with nature.

Hi Jane,
As WK said, on the other hand it is a bet.
It could mean, that some aspect of your life - in the dream manifested by little girl (could be some inner child); little scary, dettached and well like wednesdays adams,
is beign drawn and chased consciously or not by some aspect of your world that is manifested metaphorically by that man, or that the man is somehow drawning from your attention the aspect of that little girl, the police and chase could also mean something with authority.
Loss of head could mean a loss of self-importance towards the subject which is connect to the small, but connected pieces; the little papers, the end means, that it ended well.
This could mean some change in your life that, that could proceed like that and end like that, if you remain detached and watch the little things.

I find that for my dreams not just the events are important but the feelings, emotions, the inner life. How did looking at the Adams sister feel? When you lost the little sister how did you feel? (Were you relieved or scared for her or?) How did you feel about the man there? How did him expressing affection for your little sister feel? How was it when the police came, were you scared or nervous or unconcerned, just doing what felt right?
It is also of note where my awareness stops/lingers, what details catch my attention. Often time some things get foregrounded naturally by the dreaming awareness.
The same dream can be very different depending on the inner life of the experience of the dreamer.
On the one hand, it might be showing you what you need to self-stalk and/or let go, on the other hand, it might be showing you a setting to adopt to foster in your life. (Among other things it might be doing for you)
It is a bit strange to read your dream , but nice how it brings out the approaches to dreaming. Maybe you can give us your interpretation too

Well, in the dream I felt nostalgic. When I lost my sister I was upset at first but quickly got over it. I would try to interpret it myself... but I don't trust my instincts or knowledge. I could go through my father's book on dreaming and find an interpretation in there. I'm very new to this kind of thing. I want to learn the art of dreaming. I have never had a lucid dream. I think I've encountered inorganic beings before though. I've looked through some of my dad's Toltec stuff. It fascinates me.

Books, He has cry of the eagle, (It's the one I'm looking through) and some others by Theun Mares. He also has some books by Carlos Castaneda.

Many things will express themselves in unusual ways in our dreams and its not always easy to tell what a dream means. Sometimes a dream can be caused by a slice of anchovy and pig's feet pizza a person might have eaten for dinner. Other times it might be the manifestation of deep seeded guilt you feel for having murdered your little sister because the guy you were interested in liked her instead of you. The truth may be that we can never know the real meaning of our dreams, if they can even be said to have meanings at all. The best we can do when we feel a dream is trying to communicate something to us is meditate on it and try to really listen to what its saying. Whether what its telling us is a blood curdling scream for mercy or a premonition that a murderer has left papers of clues behind that will lead to her capture, the message hidden in the dream is there for a reason and its up to us to find it so we may make use of it.

Not knowing means confusement about meaning,
Wishing that the dream will unfold later is solidying known,
the dream that already happened and is immature to linger on.
Unknown we access through undermining everything that is known, felt or was, because the intensity of our fullfilment is accesible only on present moment as only through forgiving and forgetting we are opening the doors to Dream that awaits, In every step, fully without hesitation nor wishing we can witness the eloquent and elegant Spirit and the ever-shifting essence, in all the glory of seeing.

You can know your dreams by learning your intent and examining your awareness. Your dreaming positions will relate to the awareness that you possess of dreaming, and the intent you set as you become aware of them. When you move to an unknown position of awareness during dreaming new awareness is activated and thus lights up and forms new consciousness. By listening and observing in your dreams you can know if any meaning is present.
It is the fixation to the first attention that traps attention by making us think our dreams relate to our waking position of awareness. We place so much importance on our daily lives that we can miss the true importance of what dreaming is. To touch the true potential of dreaming is to reach far beyond the average world, to free awareness.

Well, I would say you value family alot (therefore a big mansion), but deep inside you are a bit jealous of your sister because she gets more attention (of that man, or maybe your father...), a feeling you can´t accept in yourself seeing it inmoral (therefore the police running) and you feel it as something very bad to hide (the hidden head), but it isn´t something very hidden for you (it's just paper covering it), you probably feel bad for overprotecting her, cause it also involves somehow manipulating her to prevent her from growing and becoming "competence" (you lead her to the school bus). But you yourself don´t feel competent enough to take full control of your life or her's (you drive the van off the road), thought you try hard because responsibility is something very important for you (you drive it by yourself anyway). This all leads you to feel somehow separated and lonely (lonely inside the mansion), and in the end you still feel too young (swinging and singing to yourself).
Am I right? If so, I assure you it isn´t that bad at all, it is not reality, just the way you experience it. And look, for example, I didn´t manage to drive by myself in dreams since I was 25! it was allways my father, and he also drove all of us constantly of the road and into the abyss. Moreover, you schould only carry responsibilities you really want to carry, because that is what it means to be mature, what others await from you is not important at all.
In order to reach lucidity I found very very usefull to wake up earlier, stay awake for awhile and go back to sleep. It is also esential to write down all dreams you can recall, and to recall all dreams you can, laying in bed in the same position you woke up will help you to recall much more, don´t change position cause it affects dream memory. It also helps to learn how to interpret dreams and therefore resolve all psychological content they hide and move forward. I hope this reply helped in that way; allways look at every content of the dream as being a part of yourself, that's the key.
