koom @ lol
Yogi Bhajan gave a set for conquering sleep once. So I tryed it, to see how it worked, and it turned out to be one of the most physically demanding kriyas he ever gave out. I figured if anyone could actually complete the entire set with the full times they'd be so exhausted they could sleep for a full day. to answer koom though I think it's an asana performed before one goes to bed to sort of adjust their etheric bodies before going into the sleep trance. There is a variation to that asana I really enjoy known as the lion the only difference is both heels are down and you can do whatever you want with your arms some kind of mudra is good.

What an amazing site, though. Here is one of the best writings onf Shiva: http://sivasakti.net/arti.../tantra/shiva-art98.html
I do believe the reason I have been invoking the presence of Shiva for so many years has been to give myself an ability in my one man war against the s**tstem to destroy the progenators the flyyyers to be their murduruhs. I will grab one and eat of it. I will sing songs of how prey has become predator and predator prey and my roar will move the masses. Maybe. It sure did when I was in Hell.

i haven't been over to check out lunoor's site yet, but i do recall a segment from the art of dreaming, i believe, in which castaneda is relating how he discovered that falling asleep with the soles of the feet together, tipped into a forward bend, was a very effective position for his dreaming. there are a couple of other passages which similarly describe positions of the body that create desirable effects by bringing the calves close in to the area which assembles the second attention in the front of the body. these positions sound very much like a very simple yogic posture. i'll post a tag below here in case it's helpful to anyone.
baddha konasana (bound angle posture) this is the upright version of the posture, you can turn it into a forward bend by tipping the pelvis forward and following with the torso.
