Okie doke well then, autolysis with others. There has been a niggling at
my brain lately...I have written about it before, identifying what is
being sought. I have been accused of being too intellectual about the
whole business, and too rigid. There are reasons for both. It occurs
to me that if you are not aware of exactly what you believe you can
never explore it, and never do complete autolysis on it because you
don't know what is lurking...sloppy. If something is never defined then
one cannot take responsibility for it, explore it or integrate it. For
example: "I am working to lose my ego." Thats a pretty common one.
First, what is I? Where does it live? What does it need? What is
wrong with I that needs to be changed? What does work mean? (I know
this all sounds pretty picky) What is the work? Why work? Lose...what
does that mean? Transform? (that's a better word imo) Why transform?
Transform to what? How is this transformation better than what is
presently the case? Then there is the ever popular ego. I do not see
ego as a bad thing which has gotten me some really interesting debates.
Ego is the way we see the world. A dysfunctional ego tells us a story
that does not quite jive with this reality. What I mean by that is the
"Im not good enough" "I cant do what makes me happy because I have to
_______ (take care of my family, not good enough, waiting for
someone/thing to save me, pick one.). Conversely a dysfunctional ego
will tell us things that are not true on the other end of the spectrum.
I am the greatest! I am a guru. I am better than ____. I don't have
to listen to any wisdom, I am already ______ . Both are destructive in
their own way. It seems that people don't like to hear what you can do
proficiently, they just want to hear how miserable and lacking we are so
we can then come in and save them (ramble ramble...just trying to work
this out) It appears that there is an issue with definition...looking
at something with ruthless objectivity, with no right or wrong answer,
just pure exploration.
Ok so I have rambled rambled rambled. Here
are some of my questions with out a filter or without judgment as empty
cupped as I can be:
What is mind? Why do I seek? What am I seeking?
What is seeking, and am I really seeking understanding or something
else? If there is something else what is it? Is my mind a part of my
body or something different?
Is God different than me? Am I
different than God? Can I manipulate my environment for the betterment
of myself and my family? What happens during dreaming? Why can I dream
with some but not with others? What is the mechanism of dreaming with
others? How do I affect each others with my energy? What is that
energy? where does it come from? How do I manipulate it?
Ok thats
enough for now, Im giving myself a headache...

"In biology autolysis or more commonly known as self digestion refers to the destruction of a cell through the action of its own enzymes. It may also refer to the digestion of an enzyme by another molecule of the same enzyme. The term derives from the Greek words αυτό ("self") and λύσις ("splitting")." Wikipedia, date retrieved 5/21/2010
Self digestion. It is a process whereby one writes and writes and writes ones beliefs until they are gone. It is a method introduced by Jed McKenna in the book "Spiritual Enlightenment...The Damnedest Thing" (Wisefool Press 2002) It is a method of examining beliefs until they are no longer a concern.
There are so many untruths living inside all of us that we just take for granted. They lie in wait unexamined and untrue waiting to trip us up and keep us from living the life we have imagined, they keep us from the truth of ourselves, and our innate ability to be truly human. I am embarking on this journey. It is fraught with unexpected pleasures, and unexpected terrors...this is not a journey for the feint hearted. I invite you to read the book and embark on the journey with me.

Mind is organic matter that is generating energy and provides a home for the individual human spirit.
Seek? Answers to questions which make more questions then you seek more answers...it is a human process and evolutionary.
There is many something elses.
Dreaming is basic and advanced. Advanced involves the creation of a dreaming double-body.
During dreaming we are still perceiving, living/being, engaged in higher activities.
The mind is part of the body. The dreaming double body is a creation of a separate spirit capable of many extraordinary things.
God is many.
Yes you are different than 'god' while 'alive'.
Dreaming with others involves the intents.
You affect other by using your intent combined with personal power.
Energy is the formations of the universal emanations.
Energy comes from the emanations around us which can be accessed.
Manipulating energy takes unbending intent.

A question can only come with a previous information that is less than satisfactory.
If you know *nothing*, there are no questions.
Thoughts, concepts and beliefs will never satisfy spiritual thirst.

How can you know nothing while you are alive and not in a coma...maybe a better way to go about it is to integrate everything, to become unconcerned enough to not only seek, but to not judge what you find. I will leave you with a question...? If you find the substance to slake the thirst...what will it look like?

It seems that you have some serious issue with me, with my thoughts and with the way I am working through my own walk along this crazy path. It also appears to me that you have a huge blockage about me. I am willing, if you like, to work this through with you. I will only be a PM away should you choose to take a look at this issue. We are here together at this time to work on stuff together, feel free to use me as a way to see what is really going on for you. Namaste DD

Thanks so much for your thoughtful input NLW! I hope you dont mind if I comment a little

Seek? Answers to questions which make more questions then you seek more answers...it is a human process and evolutionary. (that makes boatloads of sense...could this seeking business be in our DNA?)
There is many something elses (such as? Im sorry I didnt quite understand that).
Dreaming is basic and advanced. Advanced involves the creation of a dreaming double-body (how does it get created? Is it separate from the cellular body? Being created defies the law of conservation of energy...Im not one to take things on blind faith during this portion of my evolution....been there done that).
During dreaming we are still perceiving, living/being, engaged in higher (could you define "higher"?) activities.
The mind is part of the body (recent research suggests the neocortex and prefrontal cortex). The dreaming double body is a creation of a separate spirit capable of many extraordinary things.God is many.Yes you are different than 'god' while 'alive'(what happens after death and why is it different during life?).
Dreaming with others involves the intents (how?).You affect other by using your intent combined with personal power.Energy is the formations of the universal emanations (what does that mean).Energy comes from the emanations around us which can be accessed.Manipulating energy takes unbending intent (I have found this to be true.)
Thank you NLW for your time =D

DNA---evolution-yes. Something elses-plural meaning, a hint that there is much more than one. A person creates a dreaming double by becoming more aware of the nagual side of themselves. Yes it can separate from the human body and even coexist outside the human form. Higher activities are those type which we are interacting with other beings and in ours and other worlds.
After death is the age old question. I believe there are many different courses once one dies, most return to the source of their creation. In life the difference is because your not a god .
I am assuming.
One much intend to dream with others, set it up, with that said we often dream with others without direct intent so I refer to the act of dreaming with another on purpose.
I believe energy is part of the universe but it comes to certain sectors based on the powers that exist and where they rule. No problem if I have an answer I access it and if I do not I will say I have no clue but these types of questions I have asked myself many times over the years and being a sort of scientist of nagualism has lent me a link to silent knowledge built from my tonal pursuit and nagual side I have come to know. But these are my beliefs and my answers, we all have beliefs and answers.

"...we all have beliefs and answers."
What an absolutely powerful statement. I too have encountered these questions in the past, and everytime I access them there is a new level of evolution. I post them here to dissect them...to encourage others to comment hopefully to start a sytematized deconstruction of them. I cannot find the "golden nugget" of these issues alone as I am only I...there are parts of me that I cannot access without outside assistance. I have a sneaky suspicion that I am not alone in that. I am getting close to graduation from College as an older Non traditional student, I have before me "unlimited possibility" according to my mentors and advisors...it sounds really cool...but it is also incredibly daunting. It is time to really examine my beliefs in order to determine which road to follow. Which path will "grow the most corn" for me, for my family and for the world that I live in? Only if I ruthlessly examine my intent will I find a path that is impeccable. My intent is to be transparent and ruthless, to go through the process...and hopefully to engender a lively and honest conversation that is beneficial to all.
Here are my intentions.

I have another question...why is a systematic and critically thought out way of approaching spirituality so threatening to so many? I honestly dont get it. Honest questions deserve honest rebuttal to be sure...however I percieve that no one is interested in searching, but mostly pontificating...pontification is safer to be sure, but the real meat lies in ruthlessly honest exploration imo.

“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.” ~Buddha

Hi snowblind, ........."I have another question...why is a systematic and critically thought out way of approaching spirituality so threatening to so many? I honestly dont get it."
Now that, is an excellent question. I would be most interested in hearing the views of other board members on this subject. Perhaps, "dreamways" might care to give us an informed opinion based on his own personal experience?

But I have to tell you - and you've probably experienced this - the answers arent typically satisfying. The best we can do is try to directly experience something, because experience is a great teacher. So typically if I want to learn, I try to set myself up to experience the answers, vs hear them from some source. But I do still ask questions and pay attention to the answers. I still can learn from so many people and try to all the time.

And are you sure this is what these many perceive about spirituality?
You perceive no one is interested in searching? Maybe you see searching only in a specific way...such as the way you pursue it, thus you conclude no one is searching if not doing it like you. I have found that alot goes on besides the words laid down. A lot of unsaid moments, and in those moments there is searching and growth. Even if it appears not the case.
I feel your real issue is with power struggles. Like you seek equality but feel the environment around you does not support that. This is based on how you use words, such as "many this" and "why don't people do that" and so on. Much consideration towards what other people are doing.
Also "pontificating" so you feel others are serving their self rather than being helpful. Again, I would examine that belief internally rather than keep asserting it outwardly. Because all things can be balanced (inwardly), but one cannot resolve the tension in the world (what other people do), because that tension has to be there.
Anyway, apprecaite your inquiry. I like debate And direct communication. I think alot can come out of word exchanges. Behind those words is the seeker always seeking.

Regarding questioning and Quests. I'll pick my favorite quote from a star trek episode. In this one a young Tuvok goes to a Vulcan monastery to learn how to master his emotions due to some volatile emotional outbreaks at school. In the monastery he meets a Vulcan master, they have quite an interesting exchange of words. In the End Tuvok decides to learn to master his emotions. then he says "I will question everything you say."
To which the master replies "good, you would not be a worthy student otherwise". I've met many so called "teachers". who can't handle my questions sometimes, I don't think they are worthy teachers then... haha.

yes Elias...exactly my thought. Instead of being mindless consumers of others "truths" I will question everything, in my opinion it does honor to the teacher, and I believe that we are all teachers for each other, therefore I will question everything.

"What is most thought provoking in this thought provoking time is that we are still not thinking." (Martin Heidegger)
The most thought provoking is , that most thoughts are not my own thoughts. They are the flyers thoughts. A conditioned critical attitude , is also flyer thoughts. Doubt – I do not mean healthy scepticism- is a typical phenomena of the dualistic “double” mind .The mantra but, but, but makes a perfect butt-hole .
Original human thinking is possible, but rare. It starts , when you get rid of the flyers – and all other foreign thoughts. The little book “What is called Thinking ?” of the german philosopher Martin Heidegger is a good introduction into the effort ( and adventure) of real human thinking.
The capacity for own original thinking or third attention of the sorcerers , has to be trained like a dystrophic muscle. It starts with a persistent enquiry , i.e what is thinking ?, what is mind beyond matter?, what is free will ? what is existence? Who am I ? At first it is very difficult, because we are so used with the easy-going, complacent habitual thoughts of the F.I . After some training it is great fun. The development of the ability to think is as important as the decision about the content of original thinking. The choice to think about the issue of thinking in-it-self as a very good choice to start.

Exactly, and it is great fun. I know that something interesting is about to happen when the questions start pouring out. The trick for me at least is to not get caught up in the answers to the questions but the questions themselves have magic in them. They are possibilities, worlds to create and explore...endless possibility...a concept that seems at the outset to be freedom, yet when experienced can become its own prison.

Snowblind , I agree , there is great benefit in formulating the right question and to stay in the question , instead to be satisfied with premature, quick answers. This is the spiritual method of Zen koans and Ramana Maharshi ( Who am I ?) . If you are able to reach a very high intensity in your enquiry, it can throw you into an existential crisis, which shatters all concepts and reveals your Buddha - Nature.
