Narcissism and Faith
#1
This topic relates to Spiritual issues I have observed over the years and seems to relate to the FI. The first post was written to another forum.

Here is expansion of earlier remarks.

It is my belief that narcissism is a root of what ails humanity, and self-importance/reflection refers to this. That, there is no such thing as a 'self-made man', and to claim such is arrogance in the extreme, and is denial of influences both human and unseen that form us. Arrogance speaks from human boasts of accomplishment.

There came a point in my observation of TV/ media that it was 'navel gazing'. That is, continuous indulgence of people about other people, and appeals to envy, avarice, gossip and consumption.

My interest in things spiritual is to re-focus this thing. That mindfulness of Spirit or God, nature, anything not of human beings, is a cleansing. However, this does not imply becoming a hermit. The focus on the other means service to all life, rather than self-pity. The homeless and orphaned, animals and the environment, those in prison or abused by Tyrants. It is the duty of those aware and able to act, to be advocates; a rear gaurd action against the Foreign Installation.

In addition, this does not mean to act without discernment (as opposed to judgementalism). The gathering of Wisdom is an overall purpose, and wisdom can be found anywhere for one who knows what to look for.

In Bible study, I was drawn to Hebrews 11, and its description of faith, which, to me, is not too different from what Castaneda wrote about. First, faith is not Blind. It develops from experiences of phenomena that are personal, and cannot be measured scientifically. Secondly, I discovered that some things become realities by simply accepting their possibility and then exploring that possibility. Dreaming, the fibers of energy, Seeing and prophecy, the Double, are some of these things.

When don Juan spoke of 'cleaning' the Tonal, I understand that as energy saved by removing unnecessary mental garbage that block our ability to communicate with Power, or, as some may call it, Spirit. (which, by the way, as an act of controlled folly,  as I try to communicate with those who do not know, I identify it as the Holy Spirit as well).

Finally, I do not claim to be a master, a Nagual. I know my weaknesses and failures all to well. Yet, I can claim Warriorhood. I persevere and do not bow to lies.

Here ends today's sermon LOL!

May we have a sense of humor and avoid morbidity, in the face of calamity!
