so, i have to write a long paper...

in my Socialogy of the Media class, on a topic that has bearing on society as a whole. I'm writing it on the foreign installation. I need three separate
media mediums to draw references from for the paper. I was thinking, The film "The Matrix" (They had it basically correct, just the machines
aren't the ones in control.) The book, "The Active Side of Infinity" and I'm trying to come up with one more that isn't a book or movie.
Any ideas?

Well, if not a film and not a book, basically what you are left with is music or visual arts, right?


So concerning music you could look at the beauty and the beast phenomena in in gothic/doom metal music, and might combine that with fashion that this type of
music offers. You might take it further into pain, suffering, agression and submission, the color black, there is basically no limit here, you might even get
into sexual deviations (BDSM), there you can go to Sade, and come back to what is said about the parasites influencing the minds of people as Sade and helping
them come up with theories that will further influence the society.


Concerning visual arts, you can look at the paintings of HR Giger. The humanoids that he draws which are a combination of people and something else... (And as
i look at his homepage I see that he even did a cover for the black/trash metal group Celtic Frost).
