Zen master Shodo Harada once gave this advice to a
German guy about his difficulties with his wife. 'Your wife is your best
zen master.'
I like to see my self as young arrogant Juan
Matus in Don Julians house - when he is to be through out if he
upset any one of the womens in the house again.
Does it hurt my ego? oh yes!!!!
But it help me reach my path with Heart

The corpse of killed self importance I would think ideally would become as any corpse...fertilizer for the whole

Fertilizer, like that. From the individual perspective (the one killing self-importance), we could call this fertilizer the catalyst for wisdom, and it lies in our awareness as our tale of power, and will remain so for as long as its quality is impersonal. When in this state (impersonal), its quality is experienced as unity, strength. If at any time it were to become personal again, it loses those qualities, and I think for this reason anyone who has experienced power contends to keep or regain it out of knowing the pleasant side-effects of the experience...so basically its a very pragmatic experience, of the body.
If we are bidding for power, we are simultaneously dropping self-importance in the process. Though I do see 'bidding' and 'dropping' just as terms of which it does not actually happen except in perception, which paradoxically is everything lol. Essentially power is impersonal so we have to align with that to experience it directly.
Self-importance as a term has the connotation of being a negative, generally. Where shame comes into the picture is it serves no purpose to feel shame or guilt about self-importance because those qualities are not impersonal either. And if the impersonal is what we seek alignment with, then truly one should not perceive a corpse of any kind, which was my original answer (posed as question) here but I sort of integrated your response into mine also becasue I like it...hadn't considered it that way at the time I posted. And like the other posts here too, especially the wife as the ultimate tyrant, love that! I know Wolf you meant that in a good way. BTW, its the same with the other gender just works the opposite way.

Also, I perceive there being layers of the impersonal...if that makes sense.
