Nagarjuna, Zen and Dzogchen

Zen is dhyana. And dhyana is dhyana. Its dhyana-samadhi. "meditation". Its Yoga. The highest levels of Yoga. Yoga is 99 % of Buddhism. What is the last per cent ?

In some esoteric lineages, Nagarjuna was said to have met Vajrasattva in an iron tower in South India, and was taught tantra, thus transmitting the esoteric teachings to more historical figures.[2]

Now i will correct uncle Lex, or rather point the missing link on the Zen/Dzogchen.
This correction is directly in the transmission, e.g. Buddha-Mahakassapa
Mahakassapa-Ananda
i.e. Buddha Sakyamuni to Mahakassapa - Mahakassapa got transmission directly from Buddha, when Buddha said nothing and raised a flower
these transmissions are recorded in the Denkoroku (The transmission of Light) by Master Keizan 13th century, this is collection of the previous transmission records literature from China and India
e.g. Hanyatara-Boddhidharma
Boddhidharma-Eka - i.e. Eka got transmission from Boddhidharma when Eka cut away his arm in the snow next to the Shao-lin caves
In the case of Nagaryuna, and also other great masters or boddhisattvas, it is possible Nagaryuna got the trasmission from a (Atiyoga) master, what can be a human or celestial boddhisattva
same like Mahakassapa got transmission directly from Buddha Sakyamuni.

Now this is clear.

It means that transmission from Buddha to Mahakassapa is ZEN, or Atiyoga/Dzogchen if you want... something like Garab Dorye transmission. It depends.
But this ZEN - the Buddha is the same.
Its not a limited Zen.
This Zen must be the same like the Zen of Dzogchen, as this Zen is the Dharmakaya itself, as the Zen means the Buddhas mind.
Do not forget. Zen is the Buddhas mind itself. And Buddhas mind is unlimited.
Hence the Zen is unlimited.

This is Zen (Dhyana). You see, dhyanic buddhism is zen-buddhism.



The Dhyani Buddhas... or Ati-Buddhas, the primordial state Buddhas

I have always thought that zen, or dhyana, IS the Dharmakaya, only. This is the right view ! If you think otherwise, you are deluded.



This is the Zen-buddhism. indian zen-buddhism, as the Zen is from India. And then was brought to China, Japan etc.





It is simple. When it is said that the mind is Buddha, it is like this.



If You understand correctly, it is Dharmakaya.



I know those are the problems with the words in the translation - japanese, chinese, sankrit, pali and english or your original language words.



It is simply at your present consciousness/awareness, the Buddha.



Or its the Tathagatagarbha in the present consciousness/rigpa.

mind itself is Dharmakaya (i.e. this mind is Buddha=Zen)





As mind is without aggregates, it doesn’t grow or decay;

As mind is without birth or death, it can’t be wounded or killed;

As everything is contained in mind, mind itself is Dharmakaya:

Realizing this is the wisdom of the Buddhas.



Thus he sang. Princess Parani understood perfectly what this meant and expressed her own realization as follows:



I am Princess Parani,

For whom enlightened mind does not arise or cease.

Once you realize that mind is free of arising and ceasing,

You attain the view of the Buddhas of the three times,

Beyond meeting with or parting from the expanse of realization.
