It's rough, for anyone, to believe and trust in people only to see them give up on themselves. To take advantage of others is to give up on oneself. Still, it's clear Melanie has done the best she could to support others on their path to freedom. Those efforts were wasted. Now, all she can do, the only option they've left her, is to walk away. No more piggybacking. She's sadly done. From the looks of it she's been done for awhile.
Now she's just making songs about lackluster friends who really missed out on something special. She's recapping the lessons learned. Recruiting decent human beings is ridiculously more difficult than it should be.
Looking toward the future, all these albums and songs that came out this year will become a past. The new year will hold new opportunity for industry inspiration. This was a special year. I'm relieved it's over.
