Thanks Wolf. It's such a beautiful mountain. The light and clouds are always interacting with it. I will probably have more pictures to come...I still have not got a sunset one...it turns a rich red! And soon...in Oct it will be Balloon Fiesta time...a hundred or so hot air balloons in the sky at once...excited for that. Thanks for moving this thread here btw

Today there was snow on the mountain when I woke up. And also the wind currents blew the balloonists into the NE heights of Albuquerque.

Mass ascension today and wind currents drifted balloons into city, which they landed in any open area they could find.

There is a powerspot between Santa Fe and Albuquerque...the backway on highway 14. Its called Garden of the Gods and stretches about 3 miles long, natural rock formations. I read just now that stagecoach robbers used to hide in the area and rob the mining coaches from nearby towns as they passed. Interesting because when I was here I felt watched and uncomfortable being alone, but otherwise liked the place and wanted to explore it more...which I would have if I had a man or gun with me. Preferably a man with a gun

Rocks and primarily of sandstone and limestone. Also to be found are petrified logs over million years old.


The rest of these pictures (one above and all below) are hills through the backway, into the town of Madrid. An old mining town which is now a haven for bikers and hippie-artisits herb growers As I left Madrid, three big bikers...a white guy and two indians were behind me. Its was a one lane highway, and they patiently rode behind me for many miles until the winding road opened up and they could safely pass. I didn't take their picture .

I like this picture. It looks like I am in the wilderness or countryside, but I am in a courtyard in downtown Santa Fe and buildings are all around, but you cannot see them from this angle. That tree in background is enormously tall.

And good location.. near to national forests santa fe and colorado.. near to los alamos NL (i am computing with los alamos effective core potential (ECP) at ***, they have devoloped it there for atomic bombs).. near to roswell... near to las vegas... near to california ! near to us-mexico border... very good location, i consider to visit You girl btw as i am in Mexico this december - december party at Teotihuacan, You are wellcomed with NLW on pyramid :-)

Thanks both of you. Yes, all places in world are their own beauty, this is my little corner of world and I enjoy photoing it. I am considering getting a real camera one day I just may do that.
