Avalokiteshvara
Bodhisattva, practicing deep Prajna Paramita,

ON KAI KU- DO IS-SAI KU YAKU.
clearly saw
that all five skandhas are empty, transforming anguish and distress.
SHA RI SHI
SHIKI FU I KU- KU- FU I SHIKI
Shariputra,
form is no other than emptiness, emptiness no other than form;
SHIKI SOKU
ZE KU- KU- SOKU ZE SHIKI
form is
exactly emptiness, emptiness exactly form;
JU SO- GYO-
SHIKI YAKU BU NYO ZE
sensation,
perception, mental reaction, consciousness are also like this.
SHA RI SHI
ZE SHO HO- KU- SO- FU SHO- FU METSU
Sha-riputra,
all things are essentially empty-- not born, not destroyed;
FU KU FU
JO- FU ZO- FU GEN
not
stained, not pure; without loss, without gain.
ZE KO KU-
CHU- MU SHIKI MU JU SO- GYO- SHIKI
Therefore
in emptiness there is no form, no sensation, perception, mental reaction,
consciousness;
MU GEN-NI
BI ZES-SHIN I
no eye,
ear, nose, tongue, body, mind,
MU SHIKI
SHO- KO- MI SOKU HO-
no color,
sound, smell, taste, touch, object of thought;
MU GEN KAI
NAI SHI MU I SHIKI KAI
no seeing
and so on to no thinking;
MU MU MYO-
YAKU MU MU MYO- JIN
no
ignorance and also no ending of ignorance,
NAI SHI MU
RO- SHI YAKU MU RO- SHI JIN
and so on
to no old age and death,
and also no
ending of old age and death;
MU KU SHU
METSU DO-Y
no anguish,
cause of anguish, cessation, path;
MU CHI YAKU
MU TOKU I MU SHO TOK'KO
no wisdom
and no attainment. Since there is nothing to attain,
BO DAI
SAT-TA E HAN-NYA HA RA MI TA KO
the
Bodhisattva lives by Prajna Paramita,
SHIM-MU KEI
GE MU KEI GE KO MU U KU FU
with no
hindrance in the mind; no hindrance and therefore no fear;
ON RI
IS-SAI TEN DO- MU SO- KU GYO- NE HAN
far beyond
delusive thinking, right here is Nirvana.

BUTSU E HAN-NYA HA RA MI TA KO
All Buddhas
of past, present, and future live by Prajna Paramita
TOKU A NOKU
TA RA SAM-MYAKU SAM-BO DAI
attaining
Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi.
KO CHI
HAN-NYA HA RA MI TA
Therefore
know that Prajna Paramita
ZE DAI JIN
SHU ZE DAI MYO- SHU
is the
great sacred mantra, the great vivid mantra,
ZE MU JO- SHU
ZE MU TO- TO- SHU
the
unsurpassed mantra, the supreme mantra,
NO- JO
IS-SAI KU SHIN JITSU FU KO
which
completely removes all anguish.
This is
truth not mere formality.
KO SETSU
HAN-MYA HA RA MI TA SHU
Therefore
set forth the Prajna Paramita mantra,
SOKU SETSU
SHU WATSU
set forth
this mantra and proclaim:
GYA TEI GYA
TEI HA RA GYA TEI HARA SO- GYA TEI
BO JI SOWA
KA HAN-NYA SHIN GYO

Shorter Prajñāpāramitā Hṛdaya SūtraTranslated from Taishō Tripiṭaka volume 8, number 251
When
Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva was practicing the profound Prajñāpāramitā,
he illuminated the Five Skandhas and saw that they were all empty, and
crossed over all suffering and affliction.
“Śāriputra, form is not
different from emptiness, and emptiness is not different from form.
Form itself is emptiness, and emptiness itself is form. Sensation,
conception, synthesis, and discrimination are also such as this.
Śāriputra, all dharmas are empty: they are neither created nor
destroyed, neither defiled nor pure, and they neither increase nor
diminish. This is because in emptiness there is no form, sensation,
conception, synthesis, or discrimination. There are no eyes, ears, nose,
tongue, body, or thoughts. There are no forms, sounds, scents, tastes,
sensations, or dharmas. There is no field of vision and there is no
realm of thoughts. There is no ignorance nor elimination of ignorance,
even up to and including no old age and death, nor elimination of old
age and death. There is no suffering, its accumulation, its elimination,
or a path. There is no understanding and no attaining.
“Because
there is no attainment, bodhisattvas rely on Prajñāpāramitā, and their
minds have no obstructions. Since there are no obstructions, they have
no fears. Because they are detached from backwards dream-thinking, their
final result is Nirvāṇa. Because all buddhas of the past, present, and
future rely on Prajñāpāramitā, they attain Anuttarā Samyaksaṃbodhi.
Therefore, know that Prajñāpāramitā is a great spiritual mantra, a great
brilliant mantra, an unsurpassed mantra, and an unequalled mantra. The
Prajñāpāramitā Mantra is spoken because it can truly remove all
afflictions. The mantra is spoken thusly:
gate gate pāragate pārasaṃgate bodhi svāhā

Maha Prajna Paramita Hridaya Sutra
Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, when practicing deeply the Prajna Para- mita, perceived that all five skandhas in their own being are empty and was saved from all suffering.
O Shariputra, form does not differ from emptiness, emptiness does not differ from form. That which is form is emptiness, that which is emptiness, form. The same is true of feelings, perceptions, impulses, consciousness.
O Shariputra, all Dharmas are marked with emptiness. They are without birth or death, are not tainted, nor pure; do not increase, nor decrease. Therefore, in emptiness no form, no feelings, no perceptions, no impulses, no consciousness, no eyes, no ears, no nose, no tongue, no body, no mind, no color, no sound, no smell, no taste, no touch, no object of mind, no world of eyes, through to no world of mind consciousness. No ignorance and also no
extinction of it, through to no old age and death and also no extinction of it. No suffering, no origination, no stopping, no path, no cognition, also no attainment, with nothing to attain.
The Bodhisattvas depend on Prajna Paramita and their minds are no hindrance. Without any hindrance, no fears exist. Far apart from every deluded view they dwell in Nirvana.
In the Three Worlds all Buddhas depend on Prajna Paramita and attain unsurpassed, complete, perfect Enlightenment. Therefore know: the Prajna Paramita is the great transcendent mantra, is the great bright mantra, is the utmost mantra, is the supreme mantra, which is able to relieve all suffering and is true, not false. So proclaim the Prajna Paramita mantra, proclaim the mantra that says:
Gyate, gyate, paragyate, parasamgyate, bodhi svaha!
