Hi Silverwind,
I am not a proficient seer or dreamer so I will have to take you word for that : ) What you write makes me wonder what about us does stay the same? I don't really understand what you are saying about a thread of intent, in truth intent is something I am only at the beginning of learning about, and also the ap is something I know practically nothing about so you can imagine what kind of meaning I am able to derive from your reply : )
I know that the physical body is like you say literally shedding skin and becoming new but I cant help but wonder about the beliefs and senses of self that are maintained, I feel like even though we may forget about certain things they are still present and affect us now, old memory's stored in the body. Ekhart Tolle talks about the emotional body and how it keeps itself alive by feeding more of the same types of emotions.
I agree with you Littlepaw, what you say in second paragraph. What the body stores in memory is what matters. As differing from the 'stories the mind makes up' about who we are. Those are mostly useless. It's better to live a life directly through senses than to imagine 'a self having a life'. In reality there's a compromise between the two.
About the threads of intent, DJ talked about this in a chapter of Active Side of a Infinity, what awareness links with. He used example of the White House. And how the mention of the White House causes so many links of association: president, patriotism, corruption, law and order, scandal...whatever is linked by the one doing the intending. Then he said, if you visit the actual White House it's just a house, (with grass and trees, people, smells and sounds.) So there are these different streams of intent people create. How they intend their existence linearly. That's what was meant by the threads of intentions. The ones that are created beyond direct experiences. They are useful to a degree, but they are currently dominant and make up most all what's called the internal dialog. And direct apprehension of reality is less common. So if one curtails the former than the latter gets more 'space' to develop. So it gives it a boost that way.
