in fact Buddha (he died 2500 years ago), was a warrior, got married young, had a decent life, had a son, and then he left to the jungle, learned yoga (zazen) and did it 6 years, its not true he was doing mortification 6 years (but he had tried it, but ceased after nearly drowning in river), but it was 6 years of zazen (classical yoga in that) altogether. Classical yoga, origins 4000-2000 BC, the time of previous Buddha, Harappa/Mohendzodaro, Indus valley civilizations.
