So, cutting it off shows for a fact that one can survive without it and that one can function in a different way too. Getting it back again does not result in the same 'unhealthy' way of the mind dominating everything.
It is a process, the mind becomes more secure with its new role with experience and actually starts to understand that it does not understand everything best. Sometimes other parts of the being are better to handle certain situations etc. But there are things that it is still good and even best for. She's all of that but it also really leads with more of a yogic sense control kind of thing. It emphasizes the senses.
