Inner Silence University

Here's a technique I've found helpful in engendering and then sustaining inner silence....just some personal exploration...not to be taken as gospel or anything! It revolves around (pun intended ) putting the rational/categorizing part of the mind/being in its place...i.e. in the back seat, so to speak. There's a distinct feeling, as the left sided awareness gathers momentum (which it does via silence), of it beginning to wrap around the right side. I remember the left side of my luminous shell is the side associated with magic...with silence. The right side (which is dominant in modern man) is associated with logic...with routine....with fixating the assemblage point in place via familiarity/repetition. Nothing wrong with the right side except when it's had too much emphasis and thus imprisons us with its rationality. So, I seek to encourage the left side to step up...and the best way to do that is to bathe myself in silence, which is the stuff within which the left side operates.

One way to uphold the predominance of the left side is to feel a kind of expansion on the left side, as silence gathers momentum, which then curls out and around, like a mounting "tube" wave, to kind of wrap around the right side, creating this burka of awareness which holds the right side in place inside it. The right side is still operative, but it operates from within a surrouding cloud of silence. Silence has the upper hand. When I encourage this feeling of the left side wrapping around the right side...well, it seems easier to sustain silence that way
