Interesting topic. One of my favored methods of proof for telepathy is the existence of shared dreams. Of course for those who haven't had the opportunity to experience shared dreams yet, it doesn't prove anything. For those who have though, it's the perfect demonstration of telepathy.
One cool thing I noticed with the military, special forces training, they use telepathy. When they're in the process of leaving and find themselves surrounded by non-friendlies, they are taught to remain calm. There's a nervous energy which serves as a beacon to their location.
Just random thoughts.
It would be nice if there were an area around here which explains techniques which can be used as practice, like how Intentwielder pointed out.
