I think the morbidity is religious, not biblical. The idea that it might not be a very pleasant meeting.
Something positive did occur to me about fear, though. In spiritual things it can be a warning that an initiate is approaching something they are not ready
for. In that sense fear can be a healthy thing.
Lately I've looked at the Entire Old Testament as a "DANGER HIGH VOLTAGE" sign. To say I am not ready for that yet is ok.
It takes some amount of re-wiring to safely touch on some of the higher powers.
There is a story in the book of Exodus where two guys are carrying the Ark of the Covenant by it's poles/handles. It is not permitted/allowed to touch the
actual ark. As they are carrying it, they stumble and the ark begins to tip. Another man runs up and grabs the Ark to right it. He is instantly killed.
Do you think that is because God is wrathful? Or that God was punishing that man for disobeying?
No, God is Power and the man was warned.
Later in the New Testament the veil that separates the Ark from the people is torn and the way is clear.
But even when it was unavailable, the warning was in place.
Fear in this case would have been a useful tool for the man who disregarded the warning.
