He's this California dude who makes realistic movies...two I know of are about the LA scene. Ayer looks pretty much like a thug himself, lol. He does good work, its very gritty and feels true so you get pulled in. The main actor is Christian Bale, who I think is a great actor, plays a good warrior-type. In this movie he is a warrior for sure, but a very troubled one. Death is what is stalking him.
Seems Christians Bales personage passes into the hands of death by him self, sometimes looks that he does not expect to survive. But still implicate action movie as 'Training day' is.
