I have never experienced Latino life, although I have done political work stateside for human rights stuff.
The Castaneda books opened me up more to life in Mexico. There is a similarity in your own observations to his.

At a few times in my life, it "hit me" that Deja vu is actually a prophetic experience misunderstood.
In other words when you have the feeling that you have "been here before", you are really remembering (poorly or partially) having experienced this moment at an earlier time.
As maybe a partially remembered, prophetic dream.
These have happened to me on occasion and a few times, I then remembered the dream after the feeling of Deja Vu.
It may not be so in all Deja Vu experiences, but I believe it is in some.Bob

If you have read Carlos books do what they did to dislodge your normal perception and take something to change your perception to escape the mental fixation.
Otherwise your fucked if you can not do it normally.

In away I am a oracle since I have been where you are at and since you have stated your circumstance my advise is to take something to change your assembledge point.
There are not very many options.
If you do by any means, natural hopefully to change your perception you will have to escape the fixation "bottom line" of the forces that entrap one's attention and only then will someone have the freedom to see the world as it really is.
