Absolutely, I believe we get indications as to junctures where we can make a conscious choice that, if made, might open a possibility open up to us.
There have been several instances of this in my life related to the Path. Fate points out our road and we can choose to follow it or not. Do you think that as we get older, this becomes less of a factor? Not less important, but Fate seems to appear much less often. When it does appear then it's even more apparent or one consciously recognizes it.

Interesting question, Lone Wolf.
Fate: a. The supposed force, principle, or power that predetermines events. b. The inevitable events predestined by this force. From the definition above, however, fate appears to be something else than merely 'pointing': it's inevitable, it's a force.

"Fate is the pointing of the spirit. In my opinion. What is your opinion?"
Fate sounds a bit fatalistic to me. I believe in destiny. But I don't think we always know that we are fulfilling it at the time. "Fate points out our road and we can choose to follow it or not." I agree with that, but sometimes by not choosing the road we may end up on that road anyway. "Do you think that as we get older, this becomes less of a factor? Not less important, but Fate seems to appear much less often." It may be a "fine tuning" of a path we chose many years ago. Or it may have to do with the fact that we are more adventuous when young. "When it does appear then it's even more apparent or one consciously recognizes it." Probably because of experience. When you have dealt with the leading of spirit many times before you are less likely to doubt it. A young person second guesses him/herself. Bob

does anybody know what the wheel of time is ?
life like a movie, you cannot change a thing, but you can switch to another movie, if you wish. ----------------- THIS IS WAR

One aspect of the wheel-we can face time as it approaches or as it recedes.Being creatures of self reflection we ussually face time as it recedes. To stop the wheel,or to put your hands on the wheel,is to face time approaching.I would love to hear other veiws on this!

Well, FATE is a semanticly loaded word, I suppose; thoughts of pre-destination and such.
AS I see it, Lonewolf is basically correct. Fate is the life we've been given at birth, among other things. Questions like , why was I born to a poor family rather than a rich one, are typical. The Warriors way is to give up such questions. Acceptance is the purpose, to use what one has been given, by chance, fate , Power or whatever one may call it. Peace of Mind and Inner Silence is the goal. Bob CHawkeye and Crow

Well said Bob-yo.u reminded me of a quote by Don Juan -"The only differance between an average man and a man of knowledge is that a man of knowledge is not let down by his shortcomings"I tkink thats how it went

Thank you all for such knowledge answers. When I say "pointing" it is for a lack of a better word. To me the spirit cannot talk so it sends me omens, events, wonderments that alone mean little but taken in with the concept of the spirit and its ways of communicating , mean alot.
Fate is self inflicted. We make the decisions that changes the movies. Now destiny is even harder for to me that it means one has a future predetermined by a entity or force. I believe that can be as well. As we get older we might miss the signs we saw when we were younger. I believe there are reasons but how we interpeted them makes us warriors.

Fate is partly a result of the karma of the person, group/family and nation/people. This means actions done in the past have a resonance and affect in the pressent.
The other part is what Spirit opens up to us. This is a bit tricky, as we have to play a part in it. The first is to Intent (and ask Spirit) for what we Wish The Second is to enter the opening Spirit provides. In Fate both our Tonal and Nagual side is in play. What ever happens cearly shows what our Real Intent is! Life is what we Create. Mornings Son

I would say that fate is the consequence of what family we are born into, and whatever abilities we are born with.
