If you are truly wise you will not rejoice over the misfortunes of others. It can have a tendency to backfire. The wise absorb the good and the useful and casually discard the rest. There is a lot that is useful in the teachings of Abraham. I don't fully agree with them as I have 'seen' the overall effect their teachings have had on those in the very exclusive Abraham/Hicks message board forum. I ended up throwing out all the Abraham/Hicks books I had. However, I am wise enough not to rejoice over their misfortune. May you learn this important lesson the easy way through this post.

When you say we should empirically test everything, what everything? gravity thermodynamics electromagnetics conductance, maths, time, mass, (and this is just from physics.) Yes certain people specialize in the empirical verification of phenomena. Engineers, scientists, even philosophers mathematicians and tax inspectors. But i am unaware of anyone who has personally verified every single item issue and subject to those levels. Even if they had, there would always be more knowledge sets outside of what they knew that they would have to check against in order to eliminate uncertainty. How many data samples do we need to be sure? How many data samples do we need before we use can use a concept? What about best fit and fuzzy logic? What about uncertainty, risk and the unknown.

Your argument is black and white thinking. There is a difference between verifying and empirical testing. Notice how many take what they read as fact just because it feels right? There is a difference between acknowledging that one read something and perhaps maybe it could be...and turning it into fact. Amy Wallace says Castaneda abused her. Now maybe he did and maybe he didnt. Its possible. It is also possible that it is bs. Self importance makes it difficult for one to admit that they do not know.
I thought Castanedas books were great. I got alot out of them. Disbelieving the story doesnt change what I got out of them.
I read posts on consciousness. Some are filled with Castaneda like stories. Others are grounded in personal experience. However, try to bring any sense of realism and personal experience to the story tellers story and oh boy. When hundreds of people all share a similar experience (like in NDEs) that in itself is somewhat verifying. The continuium of consciousness after brain activity slows...the feeling of peace...being out of body...sounds nothing like an eagle that eats your awareness.
We all dream. All are capable of becoming aware of themselves dreaming. At that point the very real instruction of finding ones hand is something all can do. It is accessible. Plausible. Trying it verifies it.
However, running past the eagle doesnt start where one becomes aware that they have died. So it is not accessible. No one can verify it. It is not a shared experience.

I can make the people on magazine covers I have viewed move and talk with my imagination

Everything we remember is 2D, 3D and beyond all dimensions
The Force of Intent determines what we can or cannot accomplish in our lives

All we can do is PROVE, through the suffering of our determination, that we REALLY, REALLY want something
If the Force of Intent is satisfied with our efforts it will give us the gift of our desires

Just did another 100 Roman Chair situps in sets of 25
and another 100 squats in sets of 25
My "assemblage point"
or some other mysterious aspect of myself has shifted
I feel much, much better!
I have these cool little 'stick em' note papers FILLED with small 25, 25, 25, 25
and then a dark bar between the sets of 100. I like looking at those notes as they tell the story of my fierce determination to better myself.
I just tried a new recipe for a
Peach Smoothie
Some organic peach juice, some organic frozen peach slices, 1 egg and a small peach snack cup in cling syrup
AWESOME!!!
I am learning that when dealing the the Universal Creation Force of Intent it is quite common to be periodically 'slapped' down by the circumstances of life. I am learning that this is a common thing and not to be taken as total failure and the end of all progress; although it can often seem that way at the time.
Such disciplinary action from Intent can be considered 'love taps'. It is a time for regrouping and re-clarifying whatever it may be that one is Intending to accomplish.
I choose to believe that being periodically slapped down by Intent is good for me in some mysterious way. Well it keeps me humble, if nothing else. It also forces me to reevaluate EVERYTHING I currently believe in and to become more determined than ever to SIMPLIFY my beliefs and make them easier to manage.
Within the last couple of days I have once again been slapped down by the Creative Force of Intent. This time I am recovering more quickly than ever and realizing that this did not happen by accident. This is all part of the Big Picture plan of my life.
I can clearly see that it takes a lot of strength to not take such a slapping personally and to treat it as a gift rather than a curse
I am reminded of one of my old Martial Arts instructors. He told me that when he was a boy his older brother would often catch him completely off-guard and slam him in the chest, with his forearm, knocking all the wind out of him. He resented this until one day, when he was older, his brother did it again and he was instantly ready. The wind wasn't knocked out of him and his brother smiled and nodded to him with respect. His older brother was training him to be ready for anything at anytime; to never let down his guard. Through the process his older brother toughened him up. The quicker he recovered from his brother's onslaught the tougher he got.
Somehow I now see a parallel with this story and what the Spirit of Intent is doing to me in order to toughen me up. It used to take me a lot longer to pull myself back together after such a slap. This time around I feel I am learning that I waste too much unnecessary energy feeling unfairly treated and defeated. I would imagine that my martial arts instructor felt that way in the beginning of his brother's way of toughening him up. Gradually, as he grew stronger, he was grateful to his brother for the important lesson about always being as ready as possible for anything at anytime.

One of my computer friends turned me onto this cool company that has helped me
to upgrade my RAM memory
Here is the video they produce to show you how to do it
I'm using my backup computer right now and updating everything on it
So this post is a test to see whether or not my backup computer works properly
It used to be a Vista computer and my friend helped me to get Vista off and put Windows XP on it
which just so happens to be very difficult to do
The RAM modules got here a couple of days ago
I'll let you know how the upgrading of the RAM went
Wait till I give you the results before you buy anything from these people

I took out the two 512 RAM modules from my main computer
and I put four 1GB each modules in each one of the four RAM slots
So my main computer is going from 1GB of RAM to 4GB of RAM
It should be a lot faster

Well, Today was quite a day indeed! My friend, who helped me upgrade my backup Vista computer to Windows XP Professional, turned me onto a company that really helped me to upgrade my computer RAM memory on my main computer

They have a great video to teach you how to install the RAM you buy from them and they have excellent chat customer service WHICH I LOVE because I don't have to try to understand some twit with a heavy Indian accent.
So, my main computer used to have just 1GB of RAM memory. Now it has 4GB of RAM memory. It's supposed to be 4 times faster, right? No? No. Hey, maybe it just needs to digest it's new supercharged life. Ha! Someone wake me up when my computer finally runs four-times faster.
I just saw a video in which it is reported actor George Clooney stated that saying the word "fart" makes him laugh. I can't help wondering how many times you would have to say it before he stops laughing.

I took out the two 512 RAM modules from my main computer
and I put four 1GB each modules in each one of the four RAM slots
So my main computer is going from 1GB of RAM to 4GB of RAM
It should be a lot faster
It should...
I'm hoping I can stick those two 512 modules into my backup computer

Well, I am indeed satisfied with the performance of my new and improved computer. The problem I was having was that when I would shut down programs they would go into a (not responding) mode for a while. This was especially annoying when I was leaving the house and in a hurry. So far it seems the problem is solved and that is very super coolio! With 4GBs of RAM memory instead of 1GB, I wouldn't say my computer is now 3X faster, but it does seem less senile and more on top of things in overall performance. So far I'm happy. So far....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My backup computer is a slimline HP computer and man it can be difficult doing anything in there. Just taking out and replacing the clock battery was a real pain in the babuchka. The RAM memory modules are underneath the DVD drive and I sure wouldn't want to rebuild a slimline computer. My hands are too big for such a task. It appears to have the same type of RAM memory modules as my main computer, but it only has two slots and they are both full of the same 512mb RAM modules that I took out of my main computer. Oh well.... I'll hang onto those old RAM memory modules. Who knows? I may one day be able to sell them to the Smithsonian Institute for a HUGE prophet! I know I should have written: profit. I mean, who wants an overweight prophet making fat Biblical predictions?
So, my computers are now all 'hunky dunky' and it seems I don't have to reformat my main computer for at least another...day
Since I've been dealing with RAM memory modules that fit into computer logic board slots I've been thinking of going around calling woman: slots.
"Hey, you slot!"
"What was that?"
"I was actually paying you a compliment. I was comparing you to a computer logic board with memory slots ready to receive RAM modules that will make you better in all wonderful ways"
"Oh...."
