((( THE NATURE OF REALITY )))
#51
When
I honestly ask myself whether or not I believe that the Carlos
Castaneda from his books would ever do such a thing to another human
being as he did to Victor Sanchez, if Castaneda ever got powerful enough
to do so, I have to emphatically say, "YES INDEED!" I have no trouble
believing that if the Castaneda from his books ever got powerful enough
he would indeed do such things to people. In my opinion, no matter how
much don Juan tried Carlos Castaneda would end up a womanizing petty
tyrant if he ever got powerful enough.
When
I honestly ask myself whether or not the voice of the man in the
YouTube clip sounds like the character of Carlos Castaneda as portrayed
in his books I have to emphatically says "YES" as well. An obnoxious,
annoying, excuse making little twit.
When
I honestly ask myself whether or not such a person could create the don
Juan character from his imagination and accomplish all the amazing
things he did with that character I have to emphatically say, "No
possible way!" There is no way I can imagine that the Castaneda of his
books and from that YouTube clip would ever be able to pull off such a
stunt and earn a Ph. D from UCLA on top of it all. I just can't believe
it
Thus my conclusion is:
THERE WAS A DON JUAN
However
Castaneda embellished don Juan with so many lies that there is no way to know where the truth and the lies separate
I hold to my initial view of this situation:
Either
there was an actual don Juan or Carlos Castaneda was a literary
super-genius. I'm sorry, but I simply cannot believe that Carlos
Castaneda was a literary super-genius. If ANY OF YOU are convinced that
Castaneda made the whole thing up you have no choice WHATSOEVER except
to believe that Castaneda was a literary super-genius, period!
Sorry
folks, but there is no way around this. I've made my choice and my
choice is that there must have been an actual don Juan, but that he did
not do all the things that Castaneda and witches attributed to him

I haven't heard about the Swiss joining in yet...they might be. The footage when you can get it is just crazy...what's happening in the world right now.

Kind of makes you want to sit back and realize the context of the people still arguing over whether Castaneda used his left or right hand and how removed from the life stream they have become.

Well, I just reached the next level
in my Roman Chair situps development
I started by doing 100 situps in sets of 20
Then I advanced to four sets of 25
Now I just finished one set of 10 then 3 sets of 30
EQUALING 100 SITUPS!
Along with 60 squats
I feel very invigorated indeed!

After
reading about what Castaneda did to Victor Sanchez I am now less
inspired by the thought of Carlos Castaneda than ever before in my life.
I was never inspired by Castaneda in his books and I am now even less
inspired by the Castaneda of real life. I've made my choice in that I
cannot possibly believe that Castaneda was literary genius enough to
create don Juan from his imagination and do what he did with the
character; including earning a Ph. D from UCLA. I just cannot believe
that Castaneda was that much of a literary genius, period. Consequently,
I have no choice except to believe there actually was a don Juan whom
Castaneda embellished with lies. This concept serves me so I will
embrace it until it no longer serves me.
Losers who don't want to
better their lives are always looking for excuses. It doesn't take much
to believe that the same people who are certain don Juan did not exist
ALSO consider The Secret to be a fraud philosophy. I find it very easy
to believe this to be true. If you want to find excuses not to better
yourselves you will find them and if not you can always make excuses up.
So,
this thread is dedicated to the most inspiring teachings of don Juan,
and others, that I have applied and am using to better my life.
I
have ABSOLUTELY NO DESIRE to discuss Carlos Castaneda anymore, period!
He sucked as a human being...just like Jeremy Donovan TBD. No wonder
they got along so well.

Victor Sanchez stated that, for him, there were two Carlos Castanedas: The one he imagined from Carlos' earlier books and the one he actually met in later life. Consider that Victor's first major book was called: The Teachings of Don Carlos. What was that implying? It was OBVIOUSLY implying that there was no don Juan and Castaneda was actually don Juan. It doesn't take a genius to come to this conclusion. I now feel that Castaneda was offended by this implication and was determined to PROVE to Victor Sanchez that he was no don Juan in disguise. I could be wrong, but I now feel that there were many educated people who felt that there was no actual don Juan and that Castaneda was a fraud. Carlos wanted to sue them all, but he couldn't. He could only sue one person who felt there was no actual don Juan and that was Victor Sanchez. Castaneda could vent his frustrations on Victor by PROVING that he was not don Juan by acting towards him in ways don Juan would NEVER act.
Don Juan was not a glory seeker like Castaneda was. Don Juan would NEVER want to be interviewed by Time magazine or any other American magazine, for that matter. Don Juan was not secretly planning to use Castaneda to become a millionaire or to bewitch women into having sex with him. Don Juan did not want to be respected by the academic community of Western society.
There was a world of difference between don Juan and Carlos Castaneda. Don Juan was of Nature while Carlos Castaneda was of Western society and sought the all the glory Western society had to offer. Writing about Carlos Castaneda is a drag while writing about don Juan can be EXTREMELY inspiring. Thus I find it impossible to believe that Castaneda created don Juan from his imagination, wrote a string of New York Times bestsellers, then earned himself a Ph. D with his books to top it off. If Castaneda was talking don Juan philosophy before he purportedly met the shaman it would indeed be in his ex-wife's book. She purportedly wrote a book against Castaneda, but stated that he was indeed taking field trips when he stated he was in his books.
Once again: There was a BIG DIFFERENCE between Carlos Castaneda and don Juan.  Don Juan was inspiring and Carlos Castaneda sucked as a human being. That is all the evidence I need to believe there was an actual don Juan whom Castaneda embellished with lies. Yes, how Castaneda treated Victor Sanchez endorsing his attorneys to spread all sorts of lying rumors and convincing the judge against Victor with lie after lie does indeed tell the story of who Castaneda was underneath his hype. That's who Castaneda actually was and ANY who would remain with such a 'guru' had to be of the same character or they would not have endured Castaneda and taken him as their hero.
This is a logical and reasonable assumption and it all comes down to a simple question:
Does it serve me to believe there was an actual don Juan, Buddha, Jesus, Krishna or any other mythological figure in literary history?
Answer:
Yes it does!
Well, then the matter is settled with me for now. I may change my mind very soon when I discover a more effective manner to better myself as a human being, but for now it does indeed serve me to believe there was an actual don Juan and to learn and apply the very best of what he taught through Castaneda's books.

TO THE CASTANEDA SKEPTICS:
I'm curious how many of you are certain there was no don Juan, but there actually was a Buddha?

I just
did another 100 situps

One set
of 10 and 3 sets of 30

Plus 60
squats in sets of 15

Feeling
very proud of myself indeed!

Ex-wives are notorious for saying bad
things about their former husbands. Did Runyun's book become a New York
Times bestseller? I can't remember the last time a slanderous book
filled with hearsay did become a New York Times bestseller.
Her book sounds like a waste of my time. Full of hearsay that no one can fully verify.

Lots of 'take my word for it because I was Carlos Castaneda's wife and I now hate his guts'. Like Amy Wallace's book.
Hey,
if you want to blindly believe it all don't let me stop you. Believe
all the slanderous books about Jesus as well as those about Krishna and
the Buddha. Fact of the matter is there was nothing much inspiring about
Castaneda and lots that is STILL very inspiring about don Juan. So, if
you believe Castaneda made the whole thing up then you opt for believing
that Carlos Castaneda was a literary super-genius. I cannot believe
that Carlos Castaneda was a literary super-genius and so it CURRENTLY
serves me to believe there was an actual don Juan.
You people who
care nothing about bettering yourselves WANT SLANDEROUS information
that gives you excuses for not bettering yourselves.
Tell everyone what you think of The Secret? I say your opinion about The Secret will be rather predictable.

BUSBY BERKELEY
I
just ordered the Busby Berkeley collection Vol 2. I didn't remember I
had volume 1 until...well...it just came to me and I looked for it and
THERE IT WAS!
Last night I watched the movie 42nd Street, a Busby
Berkeley classic. It's an interesting portrayal of what it was like to
put together a show of that nature right after the stock market crash
that resulted in the American Great Depression. The director is supposed
to be the most famous musical director alive and yet he is miserable
because he should be super-rich but, thanks to Wall Street, all him
money is gone. The stress is literally killing him and HE HAS TO HAVE A
HIT!! This musical, called Pretty Lady, absolutely MUST be a hit!!
It's
interesting to consider those Busby Berkeley dance numbers. I now feel
what makes them so incredibly special is that those people were
DESPERATE! They were literally dancing for their lives. They were the
best and most all the rest were out of work. So when you see a Busby
Berkeley dance number you are seeing the don Juan principle of dancing
as though it is your last dance on Earth; as though the sword of Death
is hanging over their heads and about to fall. To top it of there don't
DARE show how desperate they are. Their smiling faces tell the story of
success. After all, THEY were the ones who got the jobs so they at least
had something to celebrate and be happy about, right?
The
director within the movie is indeed a tortured genius. I'm willing to
bet he represents how Busby Berkeley must have been in order to get
those kind of impeccable performances out of the dancers he hired. I
mean, those dance routines are 'out of this world'. They are
unbelievable. One can only wonder about the day when the boy Busby
Berkeley first looked through a kaleidoscope. It must have been like
seeing God to the young Busby. There was his destiny in a toy; a destiny
that he would bring onto the big screen with live dancers; living human
kaleidoscopes in the forms of a dances.
Busby Berkeley, wherever you are, you are still inspiring me. Thank you!!!

THINK FOR YOURSELF

Do your own research, dont blindly follow or trust information given by a 'raw guru' or leader.

Challenge dietary dogma.

Dont be afraid to make mistakes; experiment with a lot of different diet/eating styles, find what works best for YOU.

Be always open to new informations, scientific research results, or new ways to perceive life.

Keep things in perspective and see the bigger picture; careful of the
dangers of dietary obsession/orthorexia or any fanatical extremes; be
reasonable.

Have fun; dont make yourself miserable trying to follow someone
else's dietary guidelines or rules, a lot of it is just theory anyways
and may not necessarily work for everyone.

I think I may have discovered a creative writing technique, I call Creative Dream Writing. The method is you write as if you are dreaming and you wake up or become lucid in your dream. It could be beneficial to kind of 'rehearse' or explore as a thought experiment what to do once you become lucid in dreaming.  If you were dreaming and you knew you were dreaming, then you could dream whatever you want, whatever you can imagine.  So what would you dream?  That is what is being explored in Creative Dream Writing:

I am dreaming again, dreaming awake. I go into the Heart Vortex and blend with the Intelligence of Dreaming. In this dream I am flying, I am poetry, I am Spirit acting and feeling and seeing through me, with Her Celestial Eye. I look at my past and laugh, casting off into the unknown future of promise. This world I am in is as vast as the collective imagination of angels.

I see a swarm of shadow beings. They are evil incarnate. A sword of light forms in my hand, and they are gone.

I become one with the Prime Dream Weaver. Her love guides me through a Healing Portal of Grace. My internal words are disrupted and inner silence ensues. There are no words or thoughts in my mind, it is completely empty and still. I can hear Spirit though, She is singing a sweet song of redemption and laughing also.

I am flying through space. I am walking in a desert. I see a lion, of legendary proportions, I mean this is one fearsome lion. He looks at me, and I see in his eyes the eyes of every single petty tyrant in my life. He lunges at me. Instantly I disappear and I am in his soul.

"Speak to the highest in every heart."

I stop and ponder how lucid I am in this dream. If I am dreaming this, is this what I want to dream? What do I want to dream? What do I desire to experience in dreaming? I hear a Voice:

"Dream the Dream your soul desires to Dream"

Is there such a thing as dreaming consciously? Even when you are 'lucid' in your dream, how much control do you really have?

"Is the Dream dreaming you or do you dare to Dream for yourself?"

Time seems to stand still. I am immersed in this Voice and the focus and clarity it is providing. Yes, often it seems that the 'dream' is dreaming me, like I have no control. And I have experienced dreaming and waking up in the dream and knowing I am dreaming, then making a conscious decision to fly, and I flew! So I know it is possible. I desire to grok the essence of dreaming...

I remember I am dreaming and decide to explore the dreaming world I am dreaming right now.

"The Creative Spirit lives in you. Do you truly understand what Creativity is?"

Maybe I dont. I channel Creativity through my beingness. I breathe in Creativity and let it flow into my heart, absorbing within every cell and atom of my light dream energy body. Creativity is a thought creating itself within the mind of the Infinite Being who thought the First Thought. It comes from no-where; actually it comes from Spirit Intent. I'm making this up; yet art reflects reality. lol.

I wake up and now I will never be the same...

Well, I'm creating my own personal movement just for myself and my
loved ones and I am using the best of everything that crosses my path to
do so. I don't believe in the New Age movement and I don't believe in
the skeptics movement. I believe in limitless potential and I am using
everything that crosses my path to increase my faith in manifestations
of the miraculous. Whether YOU believe in me or not is irrelevant. This
is a personal movement and YOU are not invited to join. So you go on
being skeptical and see what that gets you. Personally, your lack of
miraculous wonders in  your miserable lives are none of my business. My
miraculous wonders are MY business and none of yours. YOU won't believe
no matter what I may share and that's just fine with me!
Your
lack of victories in life are none of my business, but I tell you that
being determined to remain skeptical period, like don Juan said about
sorcery, is a "dead-end street". Castaneda couldn't become a true Man of
Knowledge Warrior so he settled for being a petty tyrant sorcerer and
missed what he could have become. He tried to be a don Juan and BLEW IT.
Why? Obviously, because he was NEVER don Juan to begin with!
Any
**** can be a skeptic, but it takes more than an **** to access the
limitless power of the Universe to accomplish living miracles in his or
her life. It takes borderline obsessive ACTION that refuses to give up.
Skeptics give up before they even start.
Don
Juan taught that 'believing without believing' is the best way to live.
TBs just believe while skeptics just do not believe. Both, in my eyes,
are losers
What you people really need to ask yourselves about
Castaneda is: How would you know, by Carlos' actual life, whether or not
there actually was a don Juan? If there was a don Juan who left the
Earth would Castaneda end up all screwed up or not? If Castaneda was
actually don Juan in disguise does his actual life give testimony to
this? NO, IT DOESN'T!
Again I say that in order to believe there
was no don Juan you MUST believe that Castaneda was a literary
super-genius. He didn't just write books. He wrote a string of New York
Times bestsellers, helped to jumpstart an entire spiritual movement,
then was awarded a Ph. D by the (((EXPERTS))) at UCLA. That is
accomplishment of a literary super-genius unless...of course...there
actually was a don Juan. So, if you are certain there was no don Juan
then you have no choice WHATSOEVER except to believe that Carlos
Castaneda was a literary super-genius, period!
So, do you believe that Carlos Castaneda was a literary super-genius?
If not, then you MUST believe there was an actual don Juan and that's all there is to it!
I see no third option
Sure
don Juan's life and activities were most probably laced with lies, to
make him more colorfully interesting, but is that not the way with all
mythologies?

I always strive to make everything I believe more and more simple and practical. I used to be too esoteric. Now I realize that I must be increasingly 'down to Earth' and practical about all I believe in order to do my best to heal Mother Earth and my loved ones through the process. That is the core of my goals in life. Fully achieving this will make everything else I may reach for a proverbial piece of cake.
I have no intention of healing others outside of our family. Either make the proper efforts and learn to heal yourselves or...suffer
I have no intention to be crucified for the sins of the world. Healing others, outside of my close family, is not on my list of things to do
So I suggest you sincerely ask yourself how your activities in life are helping you to become a better and happier person? That should be the goal of the truly sane: to become better, stronger, healthier and happier people.

Supposedly,

Ancient warriors did dreaming in teams and through dreaming were able to catch glimpses of what don Juan called:
THE UNKNOWABLE
It is my understanding that the 'unknowable' was that which could not be known without dying
In
their dreaming glimpses of the unknowable they saw what had the general
shape of an eagle devouring the awareness of beings who died
Don Juan was obsessively concerned with keeping from having his awareness devoured by the "eagle" when he died
I
believed don Juan was tricked into believing that he would have a
better fate in the 'third attention', after death, if his awareness was
not devoured by the "eagle"
He had no guarantee of this!
It was a blind assumption and don Juan admitted that he wasn't even certain what the freedom he was seeking actually was
Well, if don Juan was a warrior of freedom
I am a warrior of Health!
Greater and greater health is my goal
and siphoning the health of the Entire Universe into my beloved planet Earth
is my quest and is becoming my borderline obsessive desire

Stupidity is a formidable enemy and my own stupidity is much greater than I first thought or could even imagine. Death has no mercy, and the only way you could possibly escape is through the grace of Spirit and impeccability and non-bending intent. You can't expect the Spirit to love you more than anyone else, even your enemies. Do you think God loves you or me more than the innocent women and children killed (collateral damage) or have limbs blown apart or metal shrapnel mutilating bodies (caused by the 'good guys', I might add) in so-called 'problem' countries? No, because God has to love unconditionally and impartially (there is no 'chosen' race) else God is not God. Nature is deadly and unforgiving; Nature does not even grant the right to live: be an unarmed man, walk in the jungle, meet a hungry tiger (food for Nature).

Nagualism IS a religion imo, a religion of personal experience, power, and the will of Spirit; a religion of true love for it offers an avenue of terrestrial escape for the soul, an alternative way to challenge Death (succumb to disease or old age death or strive for that uncertain potential possibility or die trying, nothing to lose cause you have to die anyways).

I do believe don Juan was real and his teachings have real value, awesome value.

I admire the debunker spirit, and its crucial to debunk the debunkers also; as long as it is truth.

from my post on a raw food forum: (If You Could Offer Advice From Your Experience)

Keep things in perspective and see the bigger picture; careful of the dangers of dietary obsession/orthorexia or any fanatical extremes; be reasonable.

Have fun; dont make yourself miserable trying to follow someone else's dietary guidelines or rules, a lot of it is just theory anyways and may not necessarily work for everyone.

And Jesus continued: "God commanded your forefathers: 'Thou shalt not
kill.' But their heart was hardened and they killed. Then Moses desired that at
least they should not kill men, and he suffered them to kill beasts. And then
the heart of your forefathers was hardened yet more, and they killed men and
beasts likewise. But I do say to you: Kill neither men, nor beasts, nor yet the
food which goes into your mouth. For if you eat living food, the same will
quicken you, but if you kill your food, the dead food will kill you also. For
life comes only from life, and from death comes always death. For everything
which kills your foods, kills your bodies also. And everything which kills your
bodies kills your souls also. And your bodies become what your foods are, even
as your spirits, likewise, become what your thoughts are. Therefore, eat not
anything which fire, or frost, or water has destroyed. For burned, frozen and
rotted foods will burn, freeze and rot your body also. Be not like the foolish
husbandman who sowed in his ground cooked, and frozen, and rotten seeds. And
the autumn came, and his fields bore nothing. And great was his distress. But
be like that husbandman who sowed in his field living seed, and whose field
bore living ears of wheat, paying a hundredfold for the seeds which he planted.
For I tell you truly, live only by the fire of life, and prepare not your foods
with the fire of death, which kills your foods, your bodies and your souls
also."

"Master, where is the fire of life?" asked some of them.

"In you, in your blood, and in your bodies."

"And the fire of death?" asked others.

"It is the fire which blazes outside your body, which is hotter than
your blood. With that fire of death you cook your foods in your homes and in
your fields. I tell you truly, it is the same fire which destroys your foods
and your bodies, even as the fire of malice, which ravages your thoughts,
ravages your spirits. For your body is that which you eat, and your spirit is
that which you think. Eat nothing, therefore, which a stronger fire than the
fire of life has killed. Wherefore, prepare and eat all fruits of trees, and
all grasses of the fields, and afl milk of beasts good for eating. For all
these are fed and ripened by the fire of life; all are the gift of the angels
of our Earthly Mother. But eat nothing to which only the fire of death gives
savor, for such is of Satan."

You might be surprised I only think that there were people some of which became exceedingly good at describing the nature of these matters.  In my view, it is not wise to put anyone up on a pedastool.  Stop making people gods and start trusting your self.  That is all you have anyways.
