This brought up a couple of thoughts. I have seen what happens when people seek power and accumulate it with negative results to both themselves and others around them. Power vitalises what is inside us, and that includes the FI, the ego. It can go to our heads! Thats how I took what LW meant when he said "the FI eats your power". The results are for example, those with unaddressed self importance will often use it to seek power over others. An empowered FI in action.
It also brought to mind the idea that power or Chi likes circulation- to flow, like water, like feelings, like the Tao....it doesnt want to be stagnate. Like money too, it likes to flow....Ive never been sure of the idea of accumulating lots of money, sensing that for me it works best if it is used. Same with possessions for me....if I dont use something for a long time, I pass it on, keeping the flow going.
People often think to increas resources one has to hoard and not spend their energy, their money their power, but I have found quite the opposite. To increase the available energy and money and power one has to use it, send it back into circulation, clean oneself up inside in the process in order to be a greater vessel to receive the greater current....And to increase the current we need to give it back out, to spend it, use it...
Any thoughts on this folks?
Spud you indicated that Lone Wolfs statement above spoke to you also, feel like elaborating on that ?

As you all know i am very new to the nagual way, so i am still trying to understand it myself. The reason it resonated with me, and indeed allowed to connect a dot or two was partially ,my own inactivity over the last few years, i can confirm that i have not in anyway stored energy. Indeed psychically i feel fat, lazy and lethargic.
This surprised me as i thought i would be able to charge headlong in dreaming. devour info and take to it all relatively easily. ( please note i am very aware of the difference between knowing and mastering, and i would never pretend that mastery can be achieved without massive commitment and application).
On another level, humanity (especilly in the west) as a whole is not only fat and lazy in the physical sense, but spiritually it is weak, will beleive what it is told by just about anyone. lacks the discernment to spot BS, know when it is enslaved by debt and corruption.
So my take on it is that those pesky FI's are growing fat, on complacency, both my own and my brothers and sisters across the world. The question i really want answered is this a human weaknes and flaw or have the human race been tricked by the FI's? Why are we so suseptable to this?

The origin of the Flyer in other words.
Its a good question Spud, one I sometimes ponder on too. No conclusion though I think that is both possible that we have been tricked, and also at the same time that that it may be part of the 'design'. The FI, ego whatever, serves a purpose, and that is - in our overcoming of it we make ourselves conscious, awake, and more and more immune to bullshit. So like an excercise machine where one needs resistance to build muscle we perhaps need the resistance to awakeness in order to develop our our awakeness.

Dear Turin,
I wonder if you sure about what power actually is? Power is the product or perception. Nothing more and nothing less. You are right about your sense of flow and it will be the fool who ignores it but power is the product of perception and it is through our discoveries in learning about perception that we become gradually acquainted with power. But what we do not understand right away is that power has a will of its own, and of course how can we learn something if we do not open ourselves to power rather than close? What is most important is to be wide awake so as to grind the inherent lesson available in every transaction we take part in and this has NOTHING to do with popular belief of wishful thinking. Being wide awake is the first pre requisite for walking the path of power. Seeing how we use our energy gives us the necessary wisdom to discriminate wisely in the moment. Power is stored in the body but this process does not occur like the mind might imagine because power is the product of perception and it is with our perception that we may one day wield the one awesome power!
Warm regards,
LeaDean

Dear TuuuuuuTuuuuu
DJ used the word ''power'' like ''intent'' and energy, and less like social power or money.
Maybe you should ask LW...

Thanks BT - money, you could say it is 'concretised' energy perhaps? BT and Lea, I think Im probably stretching the definition of power outside of how DJM used it, there are different types of power, it seems to fit for what I was saying though that energy likes to flow.
Don Juan says that if we collect enough personal power and minimise our self importance we can beckon intent. He also said that the active side of infinity is intent, and that our goal is to merge with the intent of infinity.
My understanding is that if we gather enough personal power initially through discipline, inner silence etc. we can connect ('beckon') to intent (and infinity), and obey its commands. That connection when polished gives us access to greater power which then must be used...as LW said.
(just noticed that sounds a lot like 'not my will, but Thy will' from the prayer)

Power as DJ sees it , is always personnal power.
The only true way to evaluate a person, is by their level of control over intent, or how one can manipulate intent.
Not their control of money, or people or anything else... Power, is self power.

A person's power is based on their intent. Belief, will, and knowledge form their "intent" then using this the link with power manifests. Each one of us has a different measure.

"It is believed to gain power one must use power. Using power attracts power. Storing power short term is advised, the fi will eat your power if it can".
This I understand in a different way than is responded about here. I understand that an outside force is trying to steal from me, its very harsh and real. If it could, it would make me forget "it" and "I" are separate. It would rather I think "it" is "me", it tries constantly to pass itself off as me. Since I see it now, I don't let it happen. There is still war, but I know the enemy and it is NOT me.
So I understand LW's words as there is something else (not us) truly stealing what is ours. And for what purpose? Certainly none that benefits us in ANY way. So its best we fight it with all we got! First SEE it, then fight until either you or it dies or flees.
Storing power...now that's an interesting remark...how does one go about storing power?

Storing power...now that's an interesting remark...how does one go about storing power?Storing power occurs in direct proportion to accumulating Knowledge. Knowledge will never fail you and even the FI cannot steal it from you. Belief, on the other hand, is fleeting, and easily dissected by doubt (which is one of the primary tools the FI uses - self-doubt). When your power is weakened by self-doubt, it is shed like a cat sheds hair and all the FI has to do is gather it up.* Knowledge cannot be weakened by the FI because it is rooted in personal experience, not just what you believe or what you read in a book. So to store power, the warrior must accumulate Knowledge - which can only be arrived at through direct personal experience.
At least that's how I've experienced it.
*There are several different ways of looking at the FI. Some warriors perceive it as an entity - something that has an agenda. Others see it as a byproduct of the tonal - not intelligent and having no agenda, but nonetheless a foreign mindset created largely by society/culture. Either way, the FI steals power by undermining intent and creating self-doubt. The ONLY way to avoid that is to amass Knowledge, which is the intersect point between intent and action - and at the same time, invulenrable to the FI.

Thanks for your reply alien. I agree with you on self doubt.
"Knowledge cannot be weakened by the FI because it is rooted in personal experience, not just what you believe or what you read in a book. So to store power, the warrior must accumulate Knowledge - which can only be arrived at through direct personal experience."
Here is where I see a point of entry for the FI...personal expereince. I had many personal expereinces in my very early childhood...starting from age 1 1/2 till about 6, very tramatizing. Its stored as personal experinces and knowledge, processed incorrectly. I find the FI accesses this BECAUSE its personal expereince and thus carries a sense of "validity" even though that valadity is very negative.
For example, one time I was hit and shaken by a neighbor when I was age four. He told my dad I had hit his son and so that justified his attacking me. My dad caught him doing this and ran over and knocked him out. The knowledge from this event though is that people are hostile, so doubts can be generated via this personal experience and its hard to deny its truth since it happened.
So exactly what knowledge do you speak of since some knowledge via personal experience will confirm our worst fears and doubts?

So exactly what knowledge do you speak of since some knowledge via personal experience will confirm our worst fears and doubts? If you really examine your negative experience (which was truly a nasty one), you will *see* that it only speaks to the actions of a single individual. You may conclude (erroneously) that all people are hostile, but that would be a conclusion based on a single incident or a few incidents, and not really indicative of humans as a whole. Additionally, this type of experience is what I would call an extant encounter, meaning it is random and you might just as easily have encountered a loving old lady who would have given you a perfect rose. Random. Chaos theory, in other words. No rhyme or reason. Or is there?
With that said, what's important to examine is the conclusions we draw based on our experiences - combined with our willingness and ability to release the negative energy attached to such random and unfortunate encounters. But was it unfortunate? Did it weaken you, or did it in some way make you stronger? That's maybe a different subject, but when I've had encounters with people on that level (and I had lots of them as a child, with a family member) what I have to remember as a warrior in the Now is that that really was "then" and this is the only Now, so it's a matter of detaching from my past so as to focus my energy and power in the now.
The kind of knowledge that leads to power is the knowledge of self: who are you? Knowing the answer to that question is opening the door to power that cannot be taken from you even by the FI. If the FI is targeting old experiences from childhood, for example, what I do is to look at the conclusions I have drawn rather than the experience itself. What I normally discover is that my conclusions themselves may be deeply rooted in the machinations of the FI - iow, if I have concluded that "humans are hostile" as a general rule of belief, it will preclude me from being open to further experience, and the FI has already won. So it's not the experience that's so important, as much as how we process and assimilate it, and how we ultimately come to *see* that the humans who are not awake (such as your nasty neighbor, obviously) are only pawns and puppets of the FI, and then you start to see a whole different can of nightcrawlers. Namely - the neighbor's actions were a result of a false belief, and not the result of Knowledge. He was used by the FI to infiltrate your reality at a very early and vulnerable age, to essentially attempt to "infect" you with the same false belief system he himself was already inhabiting.
If you *saw* that your neighbor was possessed by a demon, how would it alter your conclusions about the experience itself? Not that the FI is a demon in and of itself, but it can take on those characteristics based on how it uses others in its bid to infiltrate all. When I see that - really *see* it down to the core - it makes all the difference in the world. That "difference" is the separate reality don Juan spoke of.

Nice post Alien. Yes, that was a random incident in my life, but like you, I had in addition to random incidents, relatives...primarily three main ones who were hostile on a regular basis, so it all combines into one long theme of "people are hostile, people are not trustworthy, people let you down becasue they are consumed with their own entanglements and cannot see you for who you are." Much of my childhood was like this, very lonely and I was very miusunderstood because I learned how to play nice and be obidient so as to keep attention off me, so everyone thought I was a strong kid but in truth I was always terrified by all this intent I saw and I didn't know who I could tell it too that would understand.
That was then, this is now. I posed that question because I was interested to hear your thoughts about such personal expereince (form of knowledge) that the emotional residue is then used by the FI in a very real way...such as...the emotions of hostility are so real and stored in our body and the FI merely presses upon it to get us to feel our current situations are just as "real" and similar. So it usues our emotional memory and the feeling of reality that surrounds it, when in fact, just as you said, those past situations "no longer are" so its a lie and a trick the FI knows how to manuever.
"So it's not the experience that's so important, as much as how we process and assimilate it,"
Yes indeed, good point. Regarding what I spoke of here, it just dawned on me how I have been approaching this issue recently, mainly the past month. Whenever a very strong negative emotion from my past is activated, and I hear my internal dialog begin to "assemble a reality" around it that pertains to the "now" I immediately shut off the dialog. Its not that I try to also stop the emotions, but I do find that if my dialog is not active, the emotions do not last very long because they need the dialog to sustain them. And I'm working at a cumulative effect...that is, to keep doing this each and every time this occurs and I know that the emotions arisen pertain to my past traumas and not current situations to be dealt with. The fact of the matter is, if I allow the dialog in, it will make the past the now, and I don't want, won't allow that to occur.
"The kind of knowledge that leads to power is the knowledge of self: who are you? Knowing the answer to that question is opening the door to power that cannot be taken from you even by the FI."
Good question, thanks for it. I am a warrior, a stalker who dreams, and a nagual woman. Not calling myself a leader, I don't care to lead anyone nor to suggest anyone here isn't a nagual themselves. I access the nagual so I am a nagual, Spirit always spoke to me. All the times in my childhood I was alone, I was often outside speaking to trees and ladybugs and the sky...
