Possessions
#1
The recommendation for warriors is not to have any material things on which to focus their power, but to focus it on the spirit, on the true flight into the unknown, not on trivialities.
Everyone who wants to follow the warrior’s path has to rid himself of the compulsion to possess and hold onto things.

While also keeping in mind that material objects are often in "gross" form or concrete form meaning that it might seem to be an easy thing to simply walk through our belongings, and with a sweeping gesture take all to Goodwill in order not to have any possessions that entrap us.  But it's the compulsion to hold onto things that is the culprit, not necessarily the goods themselves.  And this "holding on" occurs with abstract things, too.  Oh to be able to sweep up the mood of pessimism or optimism into a dustpan and get rid of it!  Or, to simply gather up our beliefs and cart them to the dump!
I'm moving in two weeks.  One more time, the physical packing up of my belongings reminds me of how much those belongings hold onto me.  Everyone's belongings don't do this but I've found that mine do.  So I've put lots of things onto Craigslist and things are starting to fly out the door.  This weekend I put two objects onto Craigslist that were given to me by my parents.  Sticky!  It took concerted effort to "get rid" of those two things because of the metacommunication about "gifts" in my family.  However, I 'set my intent' (to use Toltec language) and there they were on Craigslist.  In short order (nagual timing, to be sure) a woman calls with interest in these two very mundane, old, ugly items.  She comes to the house and buys them without even mentioning the OBO after the stated price.  Within 24 hours they're gone.   Sweet!  An act of intent manifests.
I'm not sure whether material objects or immaterial objects are of greater difficulty in ridding ourselves of--different for everyone I'm sure, but of the forty some items put on Craigslist the fact that those two items with clear energetic hooks into me were taken first speaks to me of the power of doing energetic housecleaning.

I am in process of moving too and have been doing a lot of spring cleaning myself. Its hard to let go of old stuff but it can be quite liberating too.
