Don Juan Matus Quotes
#1
I just started a page on Facebook for good Juan Matus Quotes, contributions welcome! Just look up 'Don Juan Matus Quotes' on facebook.
"Our fellow men are black magicians. And whoever is with them

is a black magician on the spot. Think for a moment, can you

deviate from the path that your fellow men have lined up for you?

And if you remain with them, your thoughts and your actions are

fixed forever in their terms. That is slavery. The warrior, on the

other hand, is free from all that. Freedom is expensive, but the

price is not impossible to pay. So, fear your captors, your

masters. Don't waste your time and your power fearing freedom".

Thanks MS it is exactly the same!

So what do we do? we cant go about our daily business viewing others as our enemy! yet we have to remain mindful that they behave like our enemy.

in away they are not our enemy they are lost in the darkness of ignorance

A warrior way (quest) is to use/develop controlled folly - to be able to interact without losing power and attaining what was needed or called for.

Does Don Juan Matus not say something wise on this?

Excellent MS, I forgot about that part of the equation, Controlled Folly.

Don Juan to Carlos, “I am happy that you finally asked me about my controlled folly after so many years, and yet it wouldn’t have mattered to me in the least if you had never asked. Yet I have chosen to feel happy, as if I cared, that you asked, as if it would matter that I care. That is controlled folly!” .

He has absolutely full choice over his resposes too....brilliant!

What other directive did he give about dealing with people out there? must have a look. Its my study at the moment. How to coexist with people at large who are on a different wavelength yet not feel separate from them.

Incidentally, just found a good site http://thetoltecpath.word.../02/11/controlled-folly/

I've been thinking about this quote since the weekend.

The reminder I come to is that we are all the enemy(and it's antidote). We have all grown up in this black magic world since we all were channeled into/through a variation of the common AP of humanity without our consent. If you believe in the flyers, you know we are all ridden; if you don't believe in flyers then you might agree we are ridden with foreign thought content that comes from our culture and predecessors and however you see it it steals our precious attention. Either way we have work to do! Who would argue with that?

And if you think you are all done with your work and all proudly puffed up; think again! I recall the story Jesus tells of the unclean spirit who goes out of a man then comes back to find his house/host cleanly swept and put in order bringing seven more demons with him to take up residence there.

Show me someone who doesn't fall back into foreign thought patterns and behaviors at times and loose their attention to literal or metaphorical flyers whichever you prefer and that person will be someone who has worked hard and long and is humble knowing the folly of taking credit for it and especially calling it finished. I don't know if anyone is ever finished with that sweeping, that inner work with the Spirit who cleans our house whilst we sometimes think it's our little self doing the work when it is really the Self we can't take credit for. Take yourself to that one and Hu does the work through your hands, through your life. I know I'm not finished and get regular reminders every time I have the silly thought and buy into it that I am all swept and in order, thank Od for those reminders.

Thank you NagualHuSpiritSelf for showing me my **** and sweeping it for me when I can't deny it's accumulation in my life any longer.

So the only answer I can see is to let the Self work on the self continuously, even and especially when we think we are all through with that ****.

I do know that people improve and get caught in the black magic less and less often if they keep with the love discipline and practice the utmost honesty they have available to them with Spirit because I have, though lately has been a firm reminder of  my **** and divinity within.

So an antidote is honesty with Spirit and **** is good fertilizer after some time on the compost heap. Gardening is never finished and Eden is Devine.

DJ said many things to Carlos and always said in the context of what was being taught at a particular juncture. Here is another quote that approaches from a different angle than what he said above:

"Its not the people around you who are at fault. They cannot help themselves. The fault is with you, because you can help yourself, but you are bent on judging them, at a deep level of silence. Any **** can judge. If you judge them, you will only get the worst out of them. All of us human beings are prisoners, and its that prison that makes us act in such a miserable way. Your challenge is to take people as they are. Leave people alone."

Here he seems to take a hard tone with Carlos, putting the entire burden of change upon his shoulders rather than any external view of fellow men. DJ often did this, contradict, becasue truly he was teaching his student Carlos and so was tailoring it to the situation, which changed often. I don't think DJ believed any view exclusively, its was only his controlled folly that made him say what he did. He also wrote of a state of sameness, saying that that state didn't have laughter, so its controlled folly that causes a person to see and laugh, to care even though they know it doesn't matter because nothing matters. He was trying to get Carlos to see, and each step of the way was a process, so different advice was delved out accordingly.
The enemy can be real in perceptual experience but so too can a view of total unity.

fear the external and it will frighten you, mistrust the external and it will stalk you, hate the external and it will fight you, love the external and it will love you.
