If I remembered only one thing from Castaneda's books,
this would be probably it. but I never figured it out,
because diseases are everywhere. animals have them,
plants have them. Do they all indulge ?

When I think of this it comes to my mind that when it comes to living with death as an advisor, then diseases would be indulgement.

Since we have no real experience as plants or animals, I would speculate that those comments apply to humans. We are the beings that have the flyer to dictate our indulgence. Do animals and plants have that? Only my opinion, but they do not have a cerebral cortex, so their experience of disease is possibly environmentally or genetically caused... For the Standing Mother,
