Intent and the Power of the Sexes
#26
are the tantric gates of dreaming the same as the tantric gates of the physical?do they mirror/mimic them?
what of consent in dreams?
what of subconsious abuse?

GB, I suspect that in both cases, be it dreaming or physical sex, the main issue is feeling, and that a given feeling is really energy that has a certain vibrational rate.  My intuition says that this is why certain dream encounters feel like real sex, because they really are.  The two are almost identical, it's just that one is with a physical body involved, and the other is not primarily physical.
And of course, advanced tantra has as much or more to do with "energy work" than it does with physical technique.  The high vibration involved with tantra is thoroughly energetic, but curiously, this fact is not generally spoken of in the mainstream.  True to it's materialistic fixation, society seems to like to think of sex as a purely physical act.  But great sex is actually more chi-based and electromagnetic than anything else.  The reason why so many in modern times do not find satisfying sexual relations though, is that they do not explore the energetic, polar aspect, and even more so, they don't experiment with different intentions.  True tantra implies a spiritual intent, which is to say one that builds up their counterpart, rather than manipulating, "using" selfishly, or possessing.
People tend to think of anything spiritual as rather dry and inhibiting.  But this is only because they've been conditioned to think that way due to sterile religious conditioning.  The actual fact of the matter is that sex had through spiritual intention, actually creates far more pleasure and depth of benefit in all ways, especially when it is a two-way exchange of such high intent.

RG asks;"are the tantric gates of dreaming the same as the tantric gates of the physical?" do they mirror/mimic them?what of consent in dreams? what of subconsious abuse?"
Interesting questions.  Since I'm not an accomplished dreamer, I can only answer intuitively and through other experience.  The word "gate" to me in the CC context is much like the word "threshold".  It is a point of major change, a transition from a less sophisticated level of development to a more sophisticated one.  In ALL of the energy and consciousness work I've ever done, I've come across thresholds, both minor and major.  To cross them one needs extra energy and focus, but once crossed, the new level affords new advantages.
Tantric sex is definitely energy work, and it is a spiritual discipline.  Practitioners will find that as they engage such high-vibration energy practice, that thresholds of gain (gates?) will present themselves.  Whether these can be adequately compared to the gates of dreaming is perhaps unlikely, except in these general terms.
To give examples;Pleasure energy, (high vibration chi) is very dynamic and it is easy to use as a conduit to gain even more energy.  But at the same time, because it is dynamic, it can be difficult to control, (especially if one is avoiding orgasm so as to not lose energy and polar charge).  One can gain a lot of chi when in a pleasure state.  That state makes it easy to draw chi from the environment for oneself and one's counterpart, (see the chi gaining focus in my "gaining and storing of chi" post).  By gaining a large amount of energy, one will suddenly notice a fairly abrupt shift, an abrupt change of feeling and power level.  That is a threshold.  Some are barely noticeable, others are very extreme.  The same is true when using intent to raise vibration in tantra, (level of pleasure).  Go far enough, and thresholds (gates) will occur, both minor and major.
As for consent and the potentials for abuse, here's a thought for practitioners.  Gain such energy, clarity and inner strength, that one is really not vulnerable to much abuse.  It is quite difficult to abuse or control a powerhouse of chi, clarity and high feeling.
