The Truths of Awareness
#1
The following are exerpts from the teachings of the Toltec Path of Freedom. I post this to help folks understand that they cannot add the wisdom and power of the teaching to their current life... it must replace their life completely. Such is the sacrifice for power..
Dok
Most of the Truths of Awareness are based upon the act of perception and the way in which this takes place. The whole mystery of perception can be summarized in the following nine precepts:
1-The universe consists of an infinite number of energy fields resembling threads of light.
2-These threadlike energy fields radiate from a source of unimaginable dimensions metaphorically called the Eagle. As such these energy fields are known as the Eagle's Emanations.

3-Human beings are likewise composed of the same infinite number of these threadlike energy fields which manifest in the shape of a large luminous egg. The height of this egg is equal to the length of a man's body with his arms fully extended above his head on the vertical axis, and its width is that of a man with his arms extended outwards from the centre of his body along the horizontal axis. This egg is known as the cocoon of man.

4-Only a small group of the energy fields inside the cocoon are lit up at any one time by a brilliant point of light located on the surface of the cocoon.

5-Perception takes place when the energy fields which are illuminated by the point of light extend their light to illuminate corresponding energy fields outside the cocoon. This point of light is termed the point where perception is assembled, normally abbreviated to the assemblage point.
6-It is possible to shift the assemblage point to any other position on the surface of the cocoon, or even into its interior. Because the assemblage point illuminates any energy fields with which it comes into contact, the new energy fields it illuminates as a result of such shifting constitute therefore a new perception. It is this new level of perception that is known as seeing.

7-When the assemblage point shifts sufficiently far a totally new world is perceived, which is as real as the one man normally perceives.
8-There is a mysterious force known as intent which exists throughout the entire universe. It is this force which brings about perception, for it is intent which, firstly, aligns the energy fields, and secondly, causes awareness of that alignment.
9-The goal of warriors is to experience all possible perceptions available to man. This constitutes what is known as Total Awareness, inherent within which is an alternate way of dying.

Most people simply cannot conceive that they will ever have enough personal power to enable them to perceive alternative worlds, much less to access those worlds. In spite of the fact that it is the birthright of man to have power, there is no easy or miraculous way in which to acquire it. Superstition may have led many to believe in the existence of so-called supernatural power, and the use of ritual and hallucinogenic drugs may, at times, afford the person a brief glimpse of alternative states of reality, but at the end of the day there is only one true power, which, far from being supernatural, is as natural as anything else in nature. Being completely natural, the power does not suddenly materialize like lightning, but has to be painstakingly cultivated and harnessed like any other product of nature. Although there are seers who have so much power that they can work miracles, that power was not gained through any so-called supernatural process, but is instead the product of a great deal of hard work over an untold number of lifetimes. Anyone who desires it can have power, provided he or she is prepared to work for it, and to pay the price for having it - a price which very few people ever consider carefully...
The price for true power is one's life. Depending upon how we view our lives, that cost can be seen as terribly high. Yet for those who have come to the conclusion that their present life holds no more value, the cost is not nearly as high as for those who are unwilling to sacrifice their present life. It is primarily for this reason that 'only those who come to the Warrior's Path prepared to die can hope for success'. To wield the power requires a total transformation, a transformation that demands the death of the old and the total restructuring of the tonal.
Yet it is exactly because the Path of Freedom requires the death of the old that most people find the price too high, even if their old way of life is completely miserable. It is only when a person is forced to choose freedom as an act of survival, that he or she will be willing to relinquish the only life he or she has ever known. Consequently it is hardly surprising that even to this day there should be so few individuals who can wield power effectively. Therefore, the seeker of knowledge should think long before committing to the Path of the warrior.... there is no turning back.

Age is no barrier for the hunter. It requiires about 10-15 years of work, but not necessarily physical work. Earlier efforts help, as does the fact that an older person isn't as fixed on goals, as much as a younger person. This lesser level of expectations is a true advantage. A mature person is less distracted and focuses readily. If a person has mental dexterity and makes a committment, he/she can become a warrior even into the 80s. (not edited but reviewed by LW)

I completely agree with this hereSmile
What is the life, if not a battle?
I battle every day to became a better person. Every time when I feel greedy or envy, or jealous, I try, just as with fear in dreaming, to simply remember not to be, because, I seek for inner stability. And I won't get it by being defeated by any of that bad habits.
As in dreaming world, we should seek for awareness in this waken one as well, and most of people live their lives totally unaware of this waken world, and of it's possibilities.
Why can't I sometimes remember the past day events, dialogs...? Because I wasn't enough aware of it, I didn't manage to stay enough aware to remember it, I didn't try to feel lucid enough in it.
We usually remember some certain moments, while being alone in the mountain, on the sea, in the nature, or we remember some specific feeling that came over us in one specific moment.
What is that moment and that feeling?
I would call it an awareness.
People call themselves self aware beings and most of them are far away from being aware during most of their lives.
We truly are assembled with universe trough our assemblage point, and when we gain enough power, we can shift it where ever and become, as Dok Green said, more and more aware, streaming to find total freedom that is manifested as total awareness.
To reach that level, it is important, for qualitative beginning, to become as most aware in this tonal life as well, to reconstruct it if necessary, and not to let us become slaved by small, bad habits.
I'm interested in what do you here think of awareness and how do you manage to reach it and maintain it?

And by the way, there are a lot good pages at this forum, beside the first one that we usually read and write to

hi
i would say the first thing to maintain awareness is to receive the actual moment without being disturbed by thoughts that are caused by it, because following any thoughts destroys the connection to the "now".

How do you define the price for gaining knowledge and power?
Do you all agree that to Walk the Path of Warrior one should erase himself from lives of people who loves him? (by Castaneda) I object that, I dont belive it right way. And if it's the only way (which I dont really belive) to walk the path of warrior then I forfeit that power.

One mmore question. Does anybody here is Christian? If yes how they solve the problem of Christianity and this path?

i will agree with Zitter and Castor.
It's about being aware at the present moment. Living the now. Hmm.. and about valuing our time. If we realise our time is limited, deeply realise that, then lots of things become clear.
For example.. when you have your beloved person in front of you, the one who knows exactly what bottons to push in order to mage you angry(and you know hers/his bottons pretty well too), and at that moment-when we are ready to explode))- we think and feel that "the time i have with this wonderfull creature in front of me is limited, from what i know i may not see him/her again tomorrow" what will our reaction be? will we continue the argument??
when you have that tired cassier in a a public service who is impolite to you, what will we gain if we just start shouting and swearing to his face? will our job be done faster and better? will we be in a better mood afterwards?
each moment of our lives is a change of growth, of learning, of giving love.
If we manage to realise the temporary nature of our existence then.. nothing really remains to do but give our love to the people we love and to the world each moment.
We take the next moment for granted untill we realise we shouldn't.
Also by trying to maintain our awareness in the moment, after a while we actually start feeling that it is indeed us who hold this world and not vice versa. We feel our "effort" of holding this world's representations every step we take.

Poutnik,
i am against destroying of the tonal too.
I beleive that the tonal should be protected and safe.
But! it should pure.. clear.
I think that if we look at the people who possess power we will find that their tonal is good. In short, that they are happy with balanced and harmonic relations, with a job they love surrounded by people who love them and are in harmony with. That maybe one person or a bunch, or even none for the lonely types)
That of course means change. Movement. Internal growth means internal change.
A warrior WILL change, a warrior WILL grow, a warrior will always have something to learn))
If a warrior doesn't realise this by him/herself then the Power will find a way to show him that. Power will FORCE him to grow. He will find him/her self in front of a choice->to move forward to to stay still. If he/she choses to stay still and ignore the call of power, power will hit again, this time harder.
..................
I am not christian, or any other religion, i just beleive in the spirit, but.... i beleive that in every religion there is a path leading to truth.
And christianity contains a truth that if all those who claim to be christians were actually following that teaching, our world would be a different place, and that truth is simply assumed in two phrases of Christ:
"Love one another"
"Do not judge so that you won't be judged"
:-)
so, to a christian i wouldn't recomment to get over anything but to actually search for the core of his religion.

I agree with Saranicka,
There is one truth. It is called energy. We are all made of it, we will all disintegrate in it. Our body will become ashes, but our energy will remain.
In this life, we have this body. It is a gift from Mother Earth, wonderful gift that many people are not grateful for.
In this body we have various opportunities, we can do the most of it, or we can do nothing of it.
We can also be restless, somewhere in middle, in constant trying and doing nothing.
But the truth is, we are much more then this body; we are linked with entire universe, we are the part of it.
We can get aware of that link with universe by faith, but not Religion, Faith itself, truly believing.
Religion and faith are not the same things.
Religion is an institution of faith, like a building in which a treasure is hidden. The building can be crushed down, but gold remains gold even after the building is crushed.
The point is that the treasure is everywhere, not just in institutions; it is in every possible thing, in every sunset, in every sunrise, in every breath we take, in every present moment we are aware of.
This entire existence is treasure, amazing treasure.
Entire life is a gift, the most beautiful and most precious one we will ever get in this life time, and we are mostly not aware of it.
What are we aware of? Are we aware at all? Mostly not. Of course, some people truly do live in awareness and spend their life in true awareness, but most people are only blundering with their heads down, seeing nothing, not even what time of the day is, nothing, only judging others with little or with no awareness at all.
They judge people by the color of their skin, by the rang of education, by the material wealth, by religion, by all that they can use to judge.
Do you know why people judge others? Because they think that in that way they will escape from their selves. They can't stay not even for a moment alone, in silence, with their failures and with their successes. They have already disintegrated in the majority of others.
Their consciousness is asleep and they are blinded by shallow emotions and by making them selves good in other people eyes.
They are not aware, so they can't be aware that all they have to do is to awaken; HERE and NOW! Because life is here and now. We can't live tomorrow and yesterday is already gone, so the only thing we truly have is this very moment.
It is on us what shall we do of it, shall we sleep in it, or we shall awaken and live in it.
Artnwere, the truth that Christianity is telling about, that infinite love of Christ is fitting perfectly in any path you take. Love Christ, and not institution, love Buddha, Krishna, love Divine, love Don Juan..., whoever nagual/enlightened one you can believe to and not some silly building, made of stone, with no spiritual power in it at all.

Hello, Ravens!
I believe that Jesus was trying to teach the people of his time that all individuals can have direct contact or communication with God / divinity / Cosmic Source without having to go through any intermediaries such as priests, etc. I have always believed this and now recent discoveries are are making this more clear.
I also believe that everything is made up of energy. And that this energy is awareness / consciousness.

There is no price to gain power. Power comes freely if you live your life as a warrior. Now there may be a price to be a warrior but what would it be when it pays for freedom and a possible chance to go beyond death? Erase from those that love them? I disagree with that statement. Instead love them and let them love you. This is not the way of a warrior for a warrior keeps that love to sustain him/her when he makes it into eternity.

Thanks for that MS, in my life right now I have been given the opportunity to chuck my old life and start fresh, my decision on what to do seems very tied to the emphasis of this post to be willing to drop your old life, especially before some event happens to where you have to as an act of survival.  This keeps being pointed out to me over the last few weeks.  Your repost of this was most timely.
