It was my intention, in my last installment, to summarize certain major trends in the evolution of my philosophical viewpoint. I stress again that literary condensations tailored to this context of communication are of necessity only an approximation of reality. Even if I put in every detail I could possibly imagine (and who would read it?zzzzzz), you would still just have a an organized inventory of right-side descriptions and rationalization which only approximates at best the actual wholistic stream of left-side events.
My positive attitude philosophy may have sounded simplistic. I was really summarizing viewpoints, which I considered to be very state-of-the-art, involving the dynamics of the subconscious mind, which advanced techniques for using suggestion, visualizations, etc. I also didnt fool myself that I still struggle with certain negative thought patterns. But it seemed to me that my strugglings, were of a much subtler order than of someone who had not undergone years of such mental discipline. I was to discover, however, that our parasite often fools us into thinking were getting somewhere. In reality, these thinking patterns are something we all share and are a direct product of the character and designs of our Foreign Installation.
My conclusions may still sound paranoid or at least like a rationalization to shift the blame for my failings. But this suspicion that there was an intelligent force of opposition challenging our every attempt at spiritual liberation has actually followed me for many years. Being a good observer of human behavior, I couldnt help but notice an uncanny trend that occurred any time I determined to break through a negative pattern or make a bold move toward self-improvement. Inevitably, other people in my life would do things to sabotage my efforts, without having the slightest knowledge of my intended goals. They were often loved ones very close to me who should have the best of intentions regarding my welfare. Now Im well aware of the teachings of modern depth psychology regarding the egos self-destructive tendencies. Im versed in more esoteric forms of such which take into account universal forces, which test our resolve. Such explanations, however, are complex, and mysterious, and leave loose ends. The presence of the human parasite explains such incongruencies in human behavior simply and completely.
Warriors today as well as ancient ones of past, report through their seeing, the parasites existence as a living being, like you and me. Thus, we are indeed discussing an individual entity, distinct from our own individuality, which objectively impacts our essential reality.
Most writings currently circulating, regarding the details of the nature of the Mind as a Foreign Installation, are closely based on the chapter entitled Mud Shadows in Active Side of Infinity. This is the culmination of the subject in Don Juans discussions with Castaneda. I will refer to it as this discussion proceeds. J advised me, however, not to get too caught up in the descriptions and appearance of the Flyers, because such information is relative and wont aid ones efforts to achieve freedom. Whats much more useful to consider are the manifestations of its activities as played out in our thoughts, feelings, actions and experiences. Thus, in stalking our human tendencies, egotisms and shortcomings, we are indeed stalking our predator.
Recounting some of the details of how J and I met and of our early conversations, will perfectly illustrate how knowledge of the existence of our Parasite clarifies human tendencies.
To be continued.
