Hey all you warriors out there!
I am seeing a mass panic brewing on the news, and I thought I would start a new thread about how we are handling our response to this emergence of the swine flu. If you ask me, the news media has been waiting for a pandemic threat, they thrive on it. Sick isn't it? Anyway, as a mother with children, of course I have concerns and I wanted to share with you what I am doing to deal with this flu outbreak. I hope you all will share from your varied health/wellness expertise on this thread so we can all benefit from each others knowledge.
What I am planning to do is first of all, don't panic, don't fear, just trust in your immune system. This is probably the best thing you can do.Next, for my kids, I will give them and myself probiotics, namely acidopholis (SP?) as they don't like to eat yogurt(except frozen and I don't think that counts) and I will get them to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer during the day. I have also had them on Zrytec lately because they have been hit hard with seasonal allergies this year, and I feel that if your child or yourself has really bad allergies, take something to reduce the symptoms so your immune system won't be busy fighting allergies and leave you susceptible to the flu. I will try to see that they and myself get plenty of rest and aerobic exercise. I plan to have on hand the homeopathic remedy oscillococcinum, and sambucol ( a great antiviral) and maybe Chestal. I will also go to the doctor if we have any symptoms, it seems this flu is easily treatable if seen in time. I don't really partake of the flu shot madness, and of course this years flu shot will not prevent this strain of the flu.
here is a good website for flu information for a person with alternative medicine tendencies: http://www.miritturley.com/holistic-pro ... swine-flu/I hope to hear from some of you about your plans, thoughts, reaction to the media, ect. on this subject. Be well all you warriors.
