There is a big difference between the word "belief" and the word "faith."
When I believe something to be so, then I tend to see everything as if it backs up that belief, and distrust or reject anything that clearly doesn't support that belief. In other words, belief is narrowing down, or limiting, of that which can be experienced "as it is."
Whereas if I have faith, there doesn't need to be any object of that faith. Faith is an opening, an acceptance, and it provides an ability to be with whatever arises in confidence. So belief is quite limiting and therefore somewhat dangerous, while faith is freeing.
What do you say?

Faith is a glimpse of silent knowledge.

Seeing our beliefs is very important.
As you no doubt have discovered, a belief is an idea construct that is put together out of many false assumptions/conclusions based upon our sense information.
Of course some beliefs have taken years to construct and can be very powerful.
The ultimate, final belief is that "I" exist as a separate, isolated entity who initiates action in an external world that existed before I was born and will continue to exist after I am gone.
Please work on that one.

Why have faith or belief, when one has the option to see directly?...

Because to understand/achieve the totality of the self, one must have/understand all the pieces of the puzzle. You remember what Juanito said about Seers that had no discipline or the warriors way? "Seeing" is not the end-all, imho.

The most accepted faith (belief) is the faith that all is ultimately One. Faith and belief work together. First there is a belief, such as, "acceptance or openness is the way", then to put faith in that belief.

The most important thing is to not care to make anything important, lol.

I remember Henry Plee who was pointing out that
many great mystics didn't understand the concept of faith...
For some people,
only what they feel, or experience with their bodies, is real...
Not what they think.
