Zen is Extinct
#1
Zen was flying high among the clouds, free and magnificent.
A shotgun went off.
Zen dropped like a bag of bricks.
The feathers of Zen were taken,
While the guts were thrown to the side.
Zen was stuffed and left on a shelf.
"What a great bird" the neighbors said.
Stiff and featherless like a Chicken,
But without any taste.
What an end to Zen!

I do not say there is no Ch'an: it's just that there are no any teachers.

Well, Shirley, I DO admire a guy who had this exchange when he came down from the mountains.  (btw, he was supposedly close to 7' tall)
Monk, meeting Huang Po on his descent: "Magnificent!  Imposing!  Where have you come from?"
HuangPo: "Magnificent and imposing, I've come from the mountains."
Monk: "What have you come for?"
HuangPo: "Not for anything else."

Not sure what you mean P.
But zen is not instinct! Its practiced everywhere around the world...
Zen is a houseold concept now, compared to other forms of buddhism,
which are not so well known...
