I've studied that John Paul Jones
took the creative helm on their last official album
In this song there is a break
in which Led Zeppelin apparently
finally realize there are Latin people in the world
It's the only close to a Latin song
I ever remember hearing Zeppelin record
That makes it very special to me

Three powerful words, that are sometimes the hardest to utter are...

You are right.

(and of course should only be uttered when the person is indeed right, lol.) But some will say "what is right and what is wrong?" Well, sometimes right is what you don't want to do, and wrong is what comes oh so easily. Sometimes right is what your heart wants and wrong is what your head tells you. Amazingly, sometimes right is what your head knows and wrong is what your heart feels! Believe it or not! This I know for sure.

Have you all heard of Dread Zeppelin? Get this..Robert PLant was a FAN. He liked what they did.

They...combined reggae, Led Zep tunes and fronted by an elvis impersonator. The guitar player performs in his underwear. Let's see...what else? ...they are just the most absurd thing around, but made quite a hit for a while. I saw them perform in a nightclub..no surprise Wei would be into them huh..cause she's weird. I see what Robert saw in them...they totally revamped the sound...made it their own and work...these youtube performances don't have the energy their live performances do.

"Dread Zeppelin as been around 19 years and has even gotten the endorsement of former Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant himself."..."Upon hearing "Un-Led-Ed" for the first time, former Led Zep singer Robert Plant said he preferred Dread Zeppelin's version of "Your Time Is Gonna Come" over his original version with Led Zeppelin."

Thanks for sharing this, Wei! What a novel concept. You see, I used to be a professional musical entertainer and, minus special outfits, I would do Elvis impersonations when I would sing his music. Transposing certain Led Zeppelin songs into a key comparable with Elvis' vocal range would fit my vocal range as well.
Many months ago I put new strings on my exceedingly fine Takamine 12str guitar. They are Elixir strings, with a coating that makes them very resistant to corrosion. I've barely played the guitar since then, but I picked it up today and the strings are still like brand new. Fantastic! I used my new digital tuner and it made tuning the 12 string guitar a breeze. As soon as I started playing I automatically gravitated to my created version of When The Levee Breaks from Led Zeppelin IV. WOW! It sounded FANTASTIC!!! I was shocked at the concept of how it will sound recorded. This guitar has an excellent on-board graphic eq preamp so that I don't need a microphone to record it and I don't have to worry about any outside noises getting onto the recorded track. Last I remember that preamp is also exceedingly fine.
Now, thanks to Wei, I can consider creating new versions of certain classic Zeppelin tunes in the key of Elvis.
Awesome!

"Robert PLant was a FAN." WY
In the ~1 hr. NPR / Terry Gross interview w/ Plant,
Plant mentioned some of the LZ knock-offs there've been over the decades.

One of those he mentioned was Hairway to Steven, which he and Terry seemed amused by.

Lee, that's great. I love that song "When the Levee Breaks" btw. That's a 'get down' song, you can't help but be pulled in. Unless you are a corpse. How is it Bonzo sounds like a thunder god? I have never heard another drummer sound as powerful. Did he have special equipment? But even live he was a powerhouse.

Yeah I know Led Zep members were fans of Elvis too. Somehow it works. Combining the two styles that is.

"Hairway to Steven"
I remember hearing Jimmy Page say in an interview that some ad people approached the band to use that song (Stairway) for a shampoo commercial. They looked at the reel and LTAO.
Stairway is possibly their most known song...but not one of my favorites. I like the Dread Zeppelin version on that one actually.

I honestly feel I can outdo the Levee with my version which I intend to call: Wong0. It will be an instrumental version and it will sound much more wholesome. I'm sorry, but "wholesome" is not a word that applies to most of the lyrics of Robert Plant. I don't want to sing most of them except maybe...Tangerine.
First I have to get my Zeppelin lead guitar chops soaring with my Music Minus One collection.
Just got through recording it all into the Tascam and I intend to be playing all the vocal parts on lead guitar
I was just thinking that Candy Store Rock would be a fantastic Elvis crossover Zeppelin song

Me too.
But I've got lots of LZ faves.

Night Flight is ok.
Kashmir is good too. Somehow
Fool In The Rain escaped my notice until I was in my ~30's or something. Nope, not sure how. But I like it, even the whistle part. LZ even did a little C&W. That's kind of fun.

Hey Lee, Jimmy Page wrote the lyrics for Tangerine. I do believe it was one of the few times he wrote.
Robert Plant's lyrics nowadays are quite beautiful. I think they always were but he's gotten real heart-centered of recent. I will post one of his new song lyrics I was listening to the other day...it was really nice...I just need to remember which song it was...

Found it. From album "Mighty Rearranger"

ALL THE KING'S HORSES

by R. Plant

Swift and true straight to my heart

Love has come calling and I'm back there again

I pour myself a brand new start

Glad to be falling for the beauty within.

All the King's horses, all the King's men

I'm on the outside looking in

Over and over and over again

There's no telling where I've been

How I returned here, how much I have seen

All the King's horses, all the King's men

I'll weave a circle round the sun

Throw down my arms and give my all

I'll be your soldier of love

I'll weave a circle round the sun

Throw down my arms and give my all

I'll be your soldier of love

I am your soldier of love
Another good one...

SHINE IT ALL AROUND

This is the land where I live

Paint it all over golden

Take a little sunshine spread it all around

This is the love that I give

These are the arms for the holding

Turn on your love light shine it all around

Shine it all around, shine it all around

These are the times of my life

Bright and strong and golden

This is the way that I choose when the deal goes down

This is the world that I love

Painted all over troubled

Take a little sunshine shine it all around

End a little sign now, spread it all around now

Shine it all around now, when the deal goes down now

Shine it all around, Shine it all around

This is the heart of the man

This is the heart of the matter

Break a little bread now spread it all around

Break a little bread now, all around

Shine it all around, shine it all around

Alright.
Let's separate the wheat from the chaff here.

Genuine dyed in the wool LZ fans may know the answer to this. It's been a mystery to me since high school.

On LZ II there's a studio version of The Lemon Song (track #3).

At 2 minutes 58 seconds into that track a line of lyric begins.

Between 3 minutes 3 seconds into that track, to ~3:07, the words become an unintelligible jumble.

I sense he's actually saying something.
But I couldn't even tell you what language he's saying it in.

Any idea what the words are, to that part of the song?

The first one to get this right gets a GOLD STAR!

Good luck!

To LeeKuan-Im sure there are some of your older posts around. There was a hack back then and most of this forum's early posts were erased by the hacker not sure how many were yours. When EZboard changed to Yuku there was also some lost threads. I can still remember the first time you posted with that guitar on the beach. You were ahead of your time you know.

In words in the LZ song were "ah..ah....ahhhhh...ahhhhhhhhhhh...ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...squeeze my lemon!"

In your forum you are the head honcho and everyone would be wise to give YOU the "GOLD STAR" no matter what. Well, in here Nagual LoneWolf is the head honcho. I suggest you give him the "GOLD STAR" without any argument

"without any argument" LM
a) If I want such advice from you, I'll ask for it.
b) "without any argument"?! About what?!

Nagual LoneWolf is the Admin. here?
Then why am I listed as a member, but Nagual LoneWolf is listed as a "Visitor"?

Whoever the Admin. is here, s/he seems to be doing an above average job.
If I wasn't cyber-comfortable here, I'd have moved on.

Some of the insights expressed here are interesting.
