I was talking with a relative today. Our conversation went towards investment. Investing in my future, 401k and such. Ok, I understand, but this lead to my exploration of other considerations. I told this relative about China here, how their seeking modernization is creating more supply and demand, just one country, populated one at that, and there is India also on the horizon.
Resources, strain of, seems highly indicated here since many people are oblivious to long-term considerations. Many people, as my relative told me, are just trying to live their lives. Which means, they want food in their refrigerator, fuel for their car, shelter, and then leisurely pursuits for family. Not so many people are thinking "what will the world be like 20 years from now?" Many are just living for today. 1.3 billion in China, 300 million in America, 1 billion in India, on and on and on. Most all wanting to be a modern citizen (consume).
I think the flower power generation's message was, "lets try to live more naturally, lets conserve earth resources". It was a good message, but no one really listened and alot of those hippie baby boomers went on to just join the rest of the world, not to say their message was in vain, but rather unheeded. Its our generation that now may not have a choice, flower power is no novel thing like it was, its going to perhapos be taken seriously, out of sheer necessity. If the human race is smart and fortunate enough to shift ap. As warriors we will always do what we need to do based on our seeing, but it'd be nice if the rest of the world could become aware of the reality of things better then they are. We'll see.

So I was talking to another relative recently, my sister. She says she wants to get one of these houses one day:

EARTHSHIP HOUSES.

Earthship

Design Principles

Electricity: from sun and wind.

Water: from rain and snow.

SewageConfusedanitary treatment.

Heating and Cooling:

from the sun and the earth.

Food: grow inside and outside.
