There is evidence to support both sides. Just because the FDA isn't perfect doesn't mean everything it has done is invalid.

I agree with what you're saying. I agree there are serious concerns with how the mental health industry functions. However, it is a more complex issue. It is not ONLY bad. It is not ONLY good.
The problem is are there people who are batshit atypical in terms of their behavior.
Society has trouble understanding them.
Society thinks medication will help.
So society tries that.
To make people like you, more tolerable.
Obviously that is just a temporary solution. Some people won't take their meds.
But if you're crazy enough, they will make you take your meds
Medication is the best crappiest solution to deal with people society is unable to tolerate. You have every right to be upset. It is a shitty solution to a problem. So long as you aren't a large enough inconvenience, you'll never be forced to take your meds.

My core problem is I was not satisfied that I had NOT fallen for the trick.
If other people are hooked on whatever new 'miracle cure' pill
the FDA has come out with this week...it's simply none of my business.
I took those documentaries to heart because of lies and trickery
I have personally been a victim of.
Now I feel I know their game and am not going to be tricked.
So, I should celebrate!!

You know, you'd be pleasantly surprised to know there are a large number of people who are misdiagnosed with a mental illness. One reason for this is because insurance companies sometimes don't pay for mental health visits if a diagnosis is not made.
Imagine being a therapist and being forced to diagnose an client after one session. That's insane. Yet, it is a very common practice.
Whether or not YOU have a mental illness, who knows. Maybe try not to see it as a personal attack. Schizophrenia is one of those mental illnesses largely misunderstood; similar to IBS. If your symptoms don't fit certain criteria, then you get that mixed bag diagnosis.
But then again, Autism is a mixed bag diagnosis too. When I say mixed bag, I just mean the way the diagnosis expresses itself has a WIDE variation between individuals.

It's fascinating how it functions. You must not be a fan of Mike Rowe--he goes behind the scenes to see how things function. It's really nerdy, stupid, interesting stuff.
