If we dont live our lives fully, its a source of suffering for us

It was like that..

One of the people in the room asked him why, if the passing into awareness is the final

objective of sorcerers, he had fought to retain his individual self today, instead of taking

advantage of the opportunity.

With a roguish smile, Carlos told us that the question made him remember one of his

ancestors, a Portuguese, who devoted himself to the business of transporting people to Brazil,

with the story of the promised land. The man made a small fortune that way, and he did a

great job creating propaganda about the advantages of Brazil, but he had never been there.

"And here I am, transporting you!"

After we had laughed at his anecdote, Carlos changed the expression on his face. In a very

formal tone, he explained that warriors don't act for reasons of self-importance, and therefore,

their decisions are not theirs.

"Don Juan told me how some men of knowledge, after a life of impeccable fight, decide to

remain, while others dissolve like a puff of wind into infinity.

"The thing that makes some warriors fight to retain their self, is something unrelated to

personal concerns. To belong to a lineage of power implies bonds of such a deep nature that

our personality is annulled. It becomes just a minuscule detail in an energy structure that the

new seers call 'the Rule'.

"In that situation, individual choice no longer exists for the warrior, properly speaking. All he

can do is accept his destiny and fulfill the commands of the Rule; anything else would just

lead to his extinction."

Thank you....it was a good time for me to read this.   Glad you are back on this forum, Scout1!

A further debate on this topic* with NLW, Quantum Shaman, Songbird, Senear, seesaw, and possibly Dreamways or any other "active member" i.e. a person with developed lucid dreaming abilities (Jinn dreaming = sorcery) is an option. This the lucid dreaming domain.

The other domain for bona fide inquiry is Ayahuasca shamanism.

These two domains, lucid dreaming and ayahuasca, are the cognitive instruments in order to get the relevant "data". The cognitive unit is here the energy body capable of out of body experience (OBE) as a "real" OBE (real world/real time) or the OBE in the non-material sphere.

In our culture, there are many atheistic people who are materialists (nihilist), i.e. they deny soul (energy body) and the consequence of death (the next world or rebirth) via confusion of modern science (scientism) with the boundary of reality (i.e. such a neglect of non-material spiritual domain, Nagual here so to speak) and its mechanisms what we virtually do not know. Its a mistake.

It was a trick.

Certainly do not do a mistake that (this is the domain of Sustained reaction forums, they are representing that cultural group), on the other hand do not be a Castaneda follower (a cultist) whats the case of many other people

Yeah

Why do we continually dig in the dirt for "artifacts"? "Is it really real"? "Did it really happen?"

From my perspective, there's only one way to find out: dive inward and engage inner silence...cultivate awareness....explore one's own personal mystery. Andthen...in doing that for awhile and experiecing the possibility of one's own "Tales of Power" and "Separate Reality"s....one may simply come to the conclusion that one doesn't give a rats ass if Carlos was telling the "truth" or not. At that point, once magic is unleashed...I mean who the *** cares? You're LIVING it...instead of just reading about it, yeah?

The proof is in the pudding

Hypothesis #1.....We ensnare people with our thoughts

Corollary derived from hypothesis #1....Maybe we would do Carlos Castaneda a tremendous favor by simply not thinking about him anymore. Set him free!!!

live it!

I have come to conclusions:

1) sorcery is not a spiritual growth

2) sorcery is dangerous

3) all the gnoseologic claims not backed-up by direct experience are highly dubious

Conclusions are like sand castles. They look impressive until the tide comes in

Just because they aren't clear to you...doesn't make them unclear mon ami. From my perspective....they are absolutely crystalline
Reply
GL: Snow White and 7 dwarfs are much more "crystalline" than Castanedas story..

LOL You are wasting your time, Scout. You're missing out on the irony here...the essence of coyote lesson. You're focusing on peripheral aspects and missing the essence. It's Castaneda chasing the coyote to try to find the cigarettes it took from him. He followed the footprints....the scat trail...until the cigarettes didn't matter anymore. You see? You're digging in the sand for clues...following footprints and dried scat with bits of rabbit hair in it. Who has time for that bullshit? Get to the heart of the matter. Don Juan said that cultivating inner silence is the whole of nagualism....it accomplishes everything. It saves energy and then the rising surplus of energy couple with sustained silence unravels every mystery. This is at the essence of every spiritual path that's worth a damn out there, from my perspective. You've got a gripe with the subterfuge inherent in the coyote path? Castaneda's stories? Fine, then go find something that works for you. Make up your own, if everything else rubs your fur the wrong way. It hardly matters in the end. But all this focusing on peripherally pettiness is like chewing off your own foot even though there's no trap trapping it.

Well, we can exclaim now together: Thats incredible, Don Juan!

Alright Scout....I'll leave you to your filibuster. It's got quite a ways to go and I don't have the energy to spare in following it. Go get em, Ahab! Hope you find your white whale. Don't get snared in the lines if the harpoons you're chucking, though. That's my parting advice

DARKNESS....
darkness darknes darkness !

Paradoxically, the "warrior of a soul", the young Carlos Aranha at hotel La Catalina in MX before publishing Teachings, is right.

GL: yes, savvy thanks for assistence

Jesus. Melodrama. It's not that dark, for chrissakes. Another way of looking at it is...if you find yourself in darkness...then be a light. Simple

Castaneda lied! He fooled all of us!
OMG I have to go warn everyone.
Hey guys, Castaneda sucked and he lied
about everything. Yeah, all his books are not
true, they are all fabricated fairy tales. Pretty crazy
huh? What, you dont believe me? Dont be so stupid, if you
believe Castaneda's books are true you have a mental illness
or you are part of a cult. Yep. I have now healed you from
your affliction, I am the great Castaneda Debunker here to
save you from your delusional beliefs and childish illusions.
Face it, Castaneda was a very bad cult leader, he was a
master con-artist, a psychopath, in general a terrible person.
He wrote books claiming that they were actual events that took
place in real life but they were just a fictional fantasy story!
You must feel really dumb right now huh? Dont worry, you
can become a Disbeliever just like me! We can join together
and form our own cult and debunk and bash Castaneda,
nagualism, and all his blind zombie followers. That will teach them.
We are here to save the world from the evil sinister
cult-master Carlos Castaneda, we must enlighten the
people and help them deprogram from the Nagual-cults; we
do this because our crusade is righteous and true.
So dont hate me just because I belittle your beliefs and
arrogantly proclaim with smug condescension how you
are sick and deluded with no idea what true reality is, whereas
I myself know for a fact beyond all doubt that Castaneda
completely made up his books from his imagination and
other stolen sources; don Juan is not real, nagualism has
no value at all to anyone; only an insane person would
consider 'don Juans' teachings as true or try to follow them,
and if you believe there is any truth in his writings you are a fool.

Jinn sorcery or the fact of meeting IBs in dreaming is pretty documented in pre-Castanedan literature
