It is very easy to dismiss knowledge we dont have intersubjectivity in. That is the experience thereof.

Then Don Juan does not existed, as he was a wine..
This is a power of agreement in our worldview according to the intersubjectivity of social order. The same power of mechanism applies to the various conspiracy theories (and official versions), to the written history (e.g. Marco Polo was never in Asia, but he collected the various stories from the merchants), mainstream religious views, social and scientific ideologies and stereotypes.
Probably, "don Juan", a hero of many novels, his original (yaqui) surname was not Matus, although this surname is as common as John Smith. His other names were Mariano Aureliano etc. Hence the working (stalkers) or sorceric name. Castaneda, Donner and Abelar had the same "version" anyway.
This is the same case like burning people for the original scientific discoveries by Roman inquisition. You say the Earth is not flat, we will burn you and your books etc. Nowadays, the same applies on the reductionistic scientism and the so called "sceptics".
However, if you look into the history, on the ancient Greece and Rome, the basis of our western culture, science and rationalism, people like Seneca, Cicero, Aeschylos, roman emperors and many others, rationalists and stoicists people took part in the Eleusina mysteries, drinking the highly potent psychedelic brew an equivalent of high doses of LSD. What was a "mystery" of ego death, rebirth (a new continuity) and "platonic" visions.

So this scepticism is rather uneducated, primitive, disgraceful, non-scientific.
As you see, this is not easy.
This lack of intersubjectivity, or break up of continuity, or discontinuity, has costed many sorcerers their lives.

Runyans book:
Margaret Runyan Casteneda succeeds in little more than convoluting the
mystery that already surrounds the secretive Carlos Casteneda. If you
are hoping to glimpse the real man here, you will be sadly disappointed.
One senses that Runyan-Casteneda hardly knew her husband (they were
together only six short months), and it becomes evident she understands
nothing of the man nor his life's work. Her perspective is simplistic,
confused, and full of romanticism, nothing much concrete here, in fact,
one comes away with the nauseous feeling that he/she has been fed a
plate of pointless fluff, nothing is specific enough to be helpful.

Amy Wallaces book: need not to be commented. I liked that circus. Stalking is indispensable method how to approach aprentices anyway, however, Donner commented that this "group" (Sustained action) was Castanedas the most stupid mistake. That was a total waste, loss of energy. Cleargreen is something else.
Timothy Leary in Flashbacks: that memory of the author or the apprentice is funny.
