Here is something that I learned from inorganic beings, a method for dreaming with power plant spirits that has worked very well for me many times.
Step 1: Find a whole, live, fresh power plant, something with medicinal properties, your choice.
Step 2: Obtain a solid wooden box, one that is capable of being glued shut, or, a leather pouch which can be sewn shut.
Step 3: Bring plant, container, and whatever you need to seal the containers, as well as some incense, into your house.
Step 4: Clear the house of any other living things besides yourself and the plant, lock all doors and windows shut, burn incense and swirl it around every
room of house then extinguish it.
Step 5: Put either all or part of the root of the plant, or all or part of the top of the plant minus the seeds, into the container and seal it, using glue
for wood or thread for leather.
Step 6: After container is sealed, take whatever is left of the plant and throw it away, open windows and doors if you feel like it.
Step 7: Keep container near where you sleep, meditate on plant before going to bed.

Try to clear your mind, not talk to yourself, feel the plant, at least for a few moments while lying in bed. The entire ritual is a "handshake" with
the plant spirit. It shakes your hand, so to speak, by then appearing in your dream in some recognizable form.

The only value in ritualistic behaviours is, to focus attention. That does,nt mean they do,nt work. Quite the reverse, actually, which is why they are so popular.
Even so, I would hope that, there might be some here, who have recognised this, and moved beyond such subjective prompts.

"Why do you think they never learned to see?" I asked.
"Because they copied the procedures of the Toltec seers without having the Toltecs' inner knowledge. To this day there are scores of sorcerers all over Mexico, descendants of those conquerors, who follow the Toltec ways but don't know what they're doing, or what they're talking about, because they're not seers."

it is surely easier to connect to a living whole plant over a period of time. I connected with a power plant i was tending, it occupied the same room with me for quite a while and entered my dreams (it took a few times before i realized what was going on, who the entity was).. I did not go about it like dreamways describes in the lead post.
dreamways has not been around for quite some time... you see he made those posts in 2008, so yea..
I am no expert on this, just wanted to let you know it is possible. I would not mind a list of what one can use that connection for . I find if one has a purpose the steps to get there are much more smooth.

Yes Indeed. I want to try this spring growing a few different herbs like sage, salvia divinorum (legal in Canada), mint and buffalo grass.

might be interesting to add i never ingested (smoked or whatever) the plant, i just watered it and had it close by.. and was attentive now and then

Here is a picture I took this morning of a plant I have been caring for all winter. It was outside last summer (when I bought it) and I have been tending to its needs very closely since I brought it in the house. It gave me a flower this morning, the first in months.

From my knowledge any plant works although medicinal or straight up "power plants" will be the most effective (power plants being plants with a specific aura). The secret I believe is nurturing, good energy, declaring your intent to the plant to make he or she knows what you are going to do with him or her, talking to the plant on a daily basis and essentially making sure he or she feels safe. Then, I think the most important part is when you harvest, you MUST apologize to the plant and you MUST PROMISE to give back to him or her and earth one day.

not necessary but preferable. also an important part of this equation is your dreaming intent.
a little trick I use is to sleep with object under my pillow. enters into dreamworld quite easily from there.

I bought some VIRGINIA TOBACCO seeds a few weeks back..the dream i had was HUGE.I was actually running along the inside of a security fence at an airport ( tobacco customs and taxes).. until i found the tobacco spirit..it is collosal.. its gloabl and its power..it was all wrapped into chinese plant spirit magic behind all the customs housesand the tobacco spirit was masked inside some giant komodo dragon type creatureswhich proceeded to bite me..it wasnt until i struck one to get its teeth off me that i awoke from the dream..but part of me knew that even that one act of agression had severed a part of my being from the spirit of tobacco..it was all very reflective..al, i can say is thank goodness i am not a violent type..as i would have attacked the dragons first without feeling.. maybe never even had the honour of being bitten.

interesting dream rosy. (seems fitting that tobacco would bond with/take the form of dragons - fire smoke breathing puffing creatures hehe)
I thought it might be good to note (for others) that allies can bite us or tear us or attack us but it is not with malevolent intent.. it is eer lets say their not unusual way of bonding, but also if we have ungood things in us (for example some form on disease or mess) they attack us too and can tear us up or eat us up, which is considered as and is a type of shamanic healing (but yea maybe better to let this tearing and eating happen with the ones youve already bonded with or at the presence of the ones you know).
CC also wrote about having to wrestle/fight with allies (to show them your strength among other things), so not all fighting as such is malevolent aggression.
However, sometimes things/beings may attack us with malevolent intents.. Because of an attack not being transparently one or the other just by it being/looking like an attack, one needs to be present and aware in dreaming to distinguish. One also needs to be cleansed enough to not react where one should not react and react where one should. tricky stuff

One question I had was, in step 4, what if you can't get the house to yourself? Or what if you lived in an appartment complex?
Can you just do this step in some rooms, the room where the plant would be?

i prefer to separate into gENUS and not over focus on individual plants.
If you concentrate on genus types then you dont need a house to yourself.. as you share the plant spirit house with other people who share the same plants as you!
of course it gets complicated around tobacco which has lots of money and politics.
deadly around Coca which has people being shot.
extremely paranoic around marijuana in case you get seen for having a plant etc..
Basil is a warrior plant.
but i genuinly think genus type is the way to go.. if you are into intelligent co-operation.

perhaps with smoking.. and especially if you hace beun your study of TIME..the point of the spirit is between alive veg and cured matter and cured vegmatter and burning veg matter!toabbacco is not just alive all over the world it is also hated by non smokers..and craved by addicts..picture- Tobbacco seedlings.. with unlit/lit handmade ciggarrette.I also think about the triangle between papers, tobacco rizlas ashtray etc.. and the lines of power in the actions of an addicts..tap pockets.. light ciggarette.. loom for ashtray., stub giggarette, light another.. etc..

Ah well okay.
I ended up sealing the plant in the wooden box. It was in veg state. I had the question because the last thing I want is mold growing in the box.
I've noticed from the very first day of it being under my bed a huge increase in lucidity. Thanks again!

I know I've said this a hundred times, but you can also sleep with items under your pillow to affect your dreaming. (Or in the palm of your hand)
